Description
Georgia Military College’s Main Campus in Milledgeville is seeking a qualified candidate for the full-time position ofAssistant TAC Officer. This position reports directly to theDeputy Commandant of Cadet Operations, with additional support responsibilities under theDeputy Commandant of Cadet Recruitment.
The Assistant TAC Officer plays a vital role in supporting the overall safety, discipline, and daily life of the Corps of Cadets, while also contributing to GMC’s cadet recruitment initiatives. This is an overnight position with duty hours Sunday through Thursday, 5:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Cadet Operations Support:
+ Ensure health, welfare, and good order within the Corps of Cadets.
+ Monitor and enforce cadet rules and standards in accordance with the GMC Cadet Guide.
+ Provide overnight oversight of Baugh Barracks and surrounding cadet areas, ensuring a secure environment.
+ Respond to medical, disciplinary, and security incidents involving cadets; coordinate with GMC Campus Police as needed.
+ Compile and submit incident reports to the Commandant and Deputy Commandant of Operations.
+ Oversee cadet accountability formations and maintain presence in cadet spaces.
+ Assist in preparation and coordination of cadet awards and recognition ceremonies.
+ Provide informal counseling to cadets to support personal and academic success.
+ Maintain cadet records (PT scores, community service hours, award tracking, etc.).
+ Wear the appropriate uniform and model cadet standards at all times.
Cadet Recruitment Support:
+ Participate in cadet recruiting events, campus tours, and outreach initiatives.
+ Serve as a representative of GMC's Corps of Cadets during recruiting engagements.
+ Assist with prospective cadet communications and follow-ups.
+ Support onboarding processes for new cadets, including orientation activities and initial integration into the Corps.
Other Duties:
+ Execute other duties as assigned by the Commandant of Cadets, Deputy Commandant of Operations, or Deputy Commandant of Recruitment.
*Criminal background check and drug screen must be cleared before any candidate may begin working.

Qualifications
Required:
+ High School Diploma or equivalent.
+ Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
+ Proficient with Microsoft Office and basic data entry systems.
+ Must be willing and able to work overnight hours.
+ Must wear the Assistant TAC Officer uniform while on duty.
Preferred:
+ Prior military service (completion of at least one enlistment).
+ Drill Sergeant or equivalent leadership experience.
+ Associate’s Degree or higher.
