Job Title: Environmental, Health & Safety Manager
Classification: Exempt
Department: EHS
Reports to: Vice President
Shift: Monday-Friday
Purpose:
Responsible for leading environmental, health and safety daily activities to ensure legal and regulatory compliance with EPA and OSHA. Functions as a primary contact to analyze and react to environmental or safety emergencies.
General Duties:
+ Requires constant physical activity throughout shift(except breaks and lunch) such as walking, sitting, standing, bending, stooping, squatting, reaching, handling, near/far vision, pushing, pulling, carrying, and lifting objects weighing 50 lbs.
+ Develops and implements annual and monthly environmental and health & safety activities for company
+ Inspect and evaluate the environment, equipment and processes in working areas to ensure compliance with government safety regulations and industry standards
+ Recommend changes to protect workers, and educate employees on how to prevent health problems and injuries through the use of health & safety training programs
+ Investigate accidents and environmental impacts to identify their causes and develop countermeasures
+ Develop and monitor EHS Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for meeting targets & objectives
+ Provides guidance and direction to EHS Department members
+ Assists local governing agencies in required visits
+ Monitor and report EHS activities to corporate entities
+ Prepare and oversee the EHS Departmental Budget and EHS-related supplies and services
+ Determine and implement the required training to reduce risks
+ Helps coordinate transportation of injured workers for proper care and treatment
+ Coordinate with outside occupational health & safety and environmental vendors to determine necessary services
+ Encourage and monitor EHS continual improvements projects
+ Will perform payroll timekeeping and scheduling for EHS Exempt employees, and also Non-Exempt employees in Superintendent’s absence
+ Participate in all other necessary meetings that require environmental, health or safety insight or input
+ Will perform other functions as required

+ Good computer skills; proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc)
+ Communicates well with all departments as well as outside governing agencies
Requirements:
+ B. S. degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Sciences or a related field and 5+ years of environmental and/or health & safety experience
