    Job Summary

    We’re looking for an experienced Senior Electrica Engineer to join our organization, which prides itself on offering innovative electrical solutions to everyday problems. While serving as mentor to the production teams, the electrical engineer will engage in rigorous design and analysis processes using the most up-to-date technologies and software. The ideal candidate will have experience with an entire product lifecycle, ushering electrical design solutions from analysis to implementation.

     

    The role requires 15-20 years of technology Electrical Design Engineering, Consulting and leadership experience with progressively increasing levels of responsibility delivering mission critical infrastructure services focused on Enterprise or Colocation Data Center environment. The ideal candidate will have at least 5-10 years of hands on, direct client facing project management in our primary market sectors, with an emphasis in the Data Center design and build services.

     

    The primary job responsibility objective is to increase the Data Cener Industry market share and mission critical engineering profitability of the team in accordance with company objectives. Develop innovative long-range strategy annual plans and enhance the company’s culture. Enhance leadership and operations through daily professional conduct. The position is responsible for the day-to-day management of client electrical engineering design solutions and execution of work.

     

    A key aspect of this role includes participation in client facing marketing and mining vertical sales opportunities including but not limited to: ongoing client engagement and management, proposal preparation, shortlist interviews, and attendance at trade shows/conferences. Other important aspects of this role include participation in firm wide planning effort, goal setting, and mentoring of younger consultants.

     

    We are seeking highly skilled and experienced Senior Data Center Electrical Engineer to join our dynamic team. The This role will focus on the design, implementation, and optimization of electrical systems within our client data center infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in electrical engineering with a deep understanding of high, medium and low voltage systems, power distribution and data center operations. The Senior Electrical Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and safety of the electrical systems supporting our client data center operations.

     

    Responsibilities & Qualifications

    Responsibilities:

    + Demonstrate a passion for expert knowledge driving market trends the latest technology development and innovations in cooling solutions.

    + Collect and interpret market, competitor and technology intelligence.

    + Maintain knowledge of data center electrical technologies, innovations and industry trends to recommend solutions that deliver performance and efficiency.

    + Manage innovation projects and prepare concept and product presentations.

    + Leads electrical engineering design, project development and project proposal preparation, delivery planning, and execution of system architecture strategy.

    + Participate in scoping, provide solution and delivery of change requests within budget and to the agreed functionality

    + Assist in the development of project plans by scoping electrical-related tasks including labor and materials requirements

    + Participate in regularly scheduled department meetings to report on project status, prepare and give design presentations, and mentor junior engineers

    + Lead engineering design analysis, provide guidance, supervision, review and validation of electrical drawing and drafting packages.

    + Perform calculations, in activities related to product, form, test fits, structural requirements and function supporting project requirements

    + Oversee qualification, verification and validation of system level functionality, performance, safety and ensure quality are in line with the company electrical engineering process.

    + Lead the design, installation, and maintenance of electrical systems in data centers, including high voltage, medium and low voltage power delivery systems.

    + Produce calculations and functional design deployment of These include transformers, switch gear, backup generators, automatic transfer and static transfer switch uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), power distribution units (PDUs), remote power panels (RPP) and overhead power busways and cooling systems.

    + Production of power distribution systems designs which meet Tier III+ requirements for resiliency and redundancy. These systems maybe block or distributed redundant.

    + Ensure electrical systems meet industry standards, codes, and regulations such as NEC, UL and NFPA.

    + Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and refine electrical designs for new builds, retrofits, upgrades, or expansions recommend and implement engineering changes to accommodate customer data center facilities.

    + Deliver conceptual designs of the electrical infrastructure for greenfield and brownfield data centers

    + Perform brownfield site design and evaluation to including retro-fits, upgrades and expansions of electrical infrastructure and systems. Evaluations will be conducted as discovery, assessment, analysis, planning, recommendations and execution.

    + Perform greenfield site design of electrical infrastructure and systems. This includes calculations, sizing systems, validation and vendor integration.

    + Conduct electrical load analysis and power systems modeling to optimize performance, reliability, and energy efficiency.

    + Perform failure and root cause analysis investigations on electrical equipment implementing corrective actions improving resiliency and reliability.

    + Oversee electrical equipment procurement, ensuring quality, performance, and compliance with manufacturer specifications.

    + Technically evaluate equipment quotations, reviews supplier Bill of Materials, equipment data packages and validate assembly drawings.

    + Validate vendor systems maintenance programs and procedures. Service and Maintenance level agreements. Evaluate and validate RFP cost models.

    + Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers in the electrical engineering team.

    + Prepare and review detailed engineering design and reports, conceptual, planning and final reports, electrical schematics, conceptual drawings, construction plans and tests

    + Preform as client representative to external contractors, vendors, service providers, suppliers and utilities to ensure timely and quality execution of electrical systems installation and maintenance.

    + Oversee qualification and commissioning of data center mission critical infrastructure.

    Qualifications:

    + Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field.

    + Minimum of 10-15 years of experience with at least 4 years delivering hyper-scale data center electrical systems design or mission critical electrical infrastructure.

    + Strong knowledge of electrical infrastructure and systems. Low voltage switch gear automatic transfer switch, transformers, backup generators, uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), power distribution units (PDUs), remote power panels (RPP) and overhead power busways.

    + Hands-on experience with utilities coordination of large load interconnect studies, facilities and systems impact studies, power modeling and electrical load analysis.

    + In-depth understanding and application of power safety electrical codes, NEC, UL, NFPA and other applicable electrical codes.

    + Proficiency in designing and analyzing electrical systems for hyper-scale data center environments, including power redundancy and system resiliency.

    + Excellent communication and project management skills, with experience leading project teams' delivery single building initiatives ranging from 10-60MW and multi building hyper-scale campuses 60MW up to 1.5GW.

    + Agility and ability to work in fast-paced environment handling multiple projects simultaneously.

    + Experience with energy-efficient electrical solutions and sustainability practice is a plus.

    General Management

    + Work collaboratively with the business unit managing Electrical and the technology division leadership team and set team and personal goals, establish objectives, and monitor plan of action consistent with company’s strategy and culture.

    + Supervise the engineering contractors, vendors, subcontractors to implement all defined installation drawing, standards, and best practice as required in each project phase

    + Ability to manage multiple projects and project deadlines and work independently

    + Help prepare and manage toward the approved annual team’s operating and capital budgets and maintain the overall operation within that budget. Keep leadership informed of potential variances.

    + Manage the labor resources within the unit to optimize short-term and long-term return on labor investment within a context of fairness, respect for the individual, and the understanding that our employees are our most important asset.

    + Exercise good judgment in all dealings with employees, clients, and suppliers, and in the delegation of authority.

    + Create an atmosphere of professional enthusiasm that encourages and enhances a one-company concept. Actively promote the sharing of resources among segments.

    Customer Service / Relation Management

    + Initiate relationship with clients, serve as primary point of contact, and set / manage expectations.

    + Manage Introba and customer relationships in an ethical and professional manner at all times.

    + Define channels of communication and provide frequent updates; keep customer and other project stakeholders apprised of progress and any necessary modifications or delays.

    + Approach client with a consultative frame of mind, listen and provide valuable information. Manage and monitor operations for continuous improvement focused on customer satisfaction.

    + Conduct yourself inside and outside the office in a manner that reflects the dignity and professional attitude of Introba. Foster and maintain a superior customer service attitude within the segment and across Introba.

    + Routinely seek customer feedback. Respond to and resolve issues as they arise. Handle customer and employee requests, complaints, and problems in a timely manner in accordance with Introba policy.

    Performance Management

    + Manage and participate in the recruiting and hiring of team members.

    + Coach, mentor, and manage the performance of employees specifically assigned to the team to improve and enhance their contribution to Introba.

    + Plan and direct the training and development of team employees in sales, project engineering, design, CAD, and project management.

    + Direct salaries and benefits of team employees within Introba policy and guidelines and in collaboration with Introba leadership team.

    Registration/Certification Requirements

    + Organize training for the maintenance engineers

    + Provide expertise related to rotating equipment and “package” equipment (main objectives are safety, reliability and minimum total cost of ownership)

    Education Requirements

    + Bachelor’s Degree from a 4-year, accredited university in engineering, computer science, or other technical area is required. Master’s Degree in either business or technical area considered a plus.

    + Desired experience for electrical/ senior electrical engineer includes:

    + Engineering consulting or project management experience

    + Ability to independently drive work, and deliver on-time

    Professional Experience Requirements

    + Professional Engineer (PE) license.

    + 15-20 years of experience in the Electrical Engineering/Consultant & Services Contractor

    + Extensive experience in the Data Center industry a must

    + Experience with SCADA systems, BMS, DCIM and automation systems for data center mission critical infrastructure.

    + Knowledge of advanced power system protection, monitoring, and control systems.

    + Experience in designing high-density and ultra-high density hyper-scale and high-performance data center environments.

    + List any licenses or certifications required by the position: IEEE Certified Systems Engineering Profession (CSEP), Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE), Certified Energy Manager (CEM).

    Travel

    + This position may include both local project related travel and other travel such as industry conferences. This travel is typically during the week and 1-3 days in duration. Expect 1-2 trips every month on average. Travel is normally domestic however occasional international travel may be required.

    Software Proficiency Requirements

    + In addition to strong personal computer skills including proficiency in MS Windows 10 or higher operating environment, a high level of proficiency and expertise in the following productivity tools is required and expected:

    Introba is committed to pay equity. As part of that commitment, we have provided the base compensation range of $189,000 - $235,000 annually for this position and local market.
