    Job Summary

    Under the direction of the Pharmacy Director, the Lead Pharmacist will be responsible for managing pharmacy staff, ensuring the safe and effective use of medications, and collaborating with healthcare professionals to enhance patient care. This leadership role requires strong clinical expertise, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to continuous improvement in pharmacy services.

    Essential Functions

    + **Team Leadership:** Supervise, mentor, and evaluate pharmacy staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.

    + **Medication Management:** Ensure the safe and effective use of medications through the development and implementation of clinical protocols, policies, and procedures.

    + **Clinical Collaboration:** Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize medication therapy and provide consultative support.

    + **Quality Assurance:** Monitor medication use and outcomes, implementing quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient safety and therapeutic efficacy.

    + **Training and Development:** Provide ongoing education and training for pharmacy staff, ensuring compliance with best practices and regulatory standards.

    + **Operational Oversight:** Manage daily pharmacy operations, including inventory management, medication dispensing, and adherence to state and federal regulations.

    + **Documentation:** Ensure accurate and timely documentation of clinical interventions, medication management activities, and staff performance.

    + **Strategic Planning:** Contribute to the strategic planning and development of pharmacy services, including new initiatives and technology integration.

    + Performs other duties as assigned.

    + Complies with all policies and standards.

    Qualifications

    + Doctor in Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy required

    + 2-3 years Acute care hospital experience required

    + 1-2 years Supervisory experience preferred

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    + Interpersonal and communication skills necessary to address issues in a tactful and timely manner with all customer groups.

    + Concentration and attention to detail - often under time constraints.

    + Self-driven, results-oriented with a positive outlook, and a clear focus on high clinical quality and business appropriateness.

    + Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

    + A natural forward planner who critically assesses own performance and is able to manage multiple projects.

    + Mature, credible, reliable, tolerant, and determined.

    + Empathic communicator, able to see things from the other person's point of view.

    + Keen for new experience, responsibility and accountability.

    + Team-player with the ability to persuade and sell ideas and concepts.

    Licenses and Certifications

    + RPH - Registered Pharmacist Current State Pharmacist Licensure required
