    Overview

     

    PNNL is looking for a Senior Learning & Development Consultant, Level IV, to help retain and develop the exceptional talent necessary to achieve PNNL’s vision, mission, and goals. At PNNL, we take an interdisciplinary approach to advance the frontiers of science and address challenges in scientific discovery, energy resiliency and national security. In this role, you will work directly with the staff and leaders responsible for delivering innovation to the nation and positioning PNNL for the future.

    Responsibilities

    The Level IV Senior Learning & Development Consultant helps develop and execute the strategy to develop and inspire the high-performing leaders, individuals, and teams needed for PNNL to successfully deliver nearly $1 billion of world-class science and technology each year. As part of our dynamic Human Resources team, you will partner with HR and PNNL leadership in all aspects of staff development, from focusing a specific topic to supporting Lab-wide initiatives that could include mentoring, performance management, and succession planning.

     

    The Staff Development Consultant is responsible for identifying and anticipating needs; following and adopting industry best practices; designing and developing powerful, relevant and engaging curriculum; and providing classroom instruction for all levels of the organization. With a passion for continually advancing staff development, you will help develop contemporary and innovative approaches, including new tools for design and delivery that will meet the needs of changing workforce dynamics.

     

    A successful candidate will have the following Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    + Deep knowledge and a demonstrated attitude of continuous learning in relevant content areas, including the fields of management/leadership, hybrid work, organizational development, industrial and organizational (I/O) psychology, talent development, adult learning theory, and human resource development.

    + Strong facilitation and program delivery skills both in face-to-face and virtual environments.

    + Experience and success working with senior executives and leadership teams as a coach, facilitator, or in recommending or designing organizational learning solutions.

    + Highly flexible and adaptable to changing structures and priorities.

    + Demonstrated ability to work with technology and online learning platforms; a passion for leveraging new technology and tools to improve learning experiences.

    + Ability to maintain confidentiality.

    + Ability to obtain Professional licenses and/or certifications such as Social Styles, Clifton StrengthsFinder, 360 Assessments, Crucial Conversations, and Crucial Accountability (which is required for the position).

    + Ability to innovate and challenge current norms to drive change in the organization and work with people of varying backgrounds and organizational levels.

    + Create a fully integrated learning organization for PNNL by developing, aligning, and delivering staff and team development and training programs and activities to meet business objectives.

    + Deliver services in the areas of organizational assessment, organization design, leadership development, team building, meeting design and facilitation, coaching, and customized learning experiences.

    + Provide internal consulting in training, staff and team development to business units; work directly with management and executives to assess training and development needs consistent with the organization's strategy and vision.

    + Determine appropriate interventions to enhance individual and team performance by creating a climate of continuous learning in support of PNNL’s strategic initiatives.

    + Plan, schedule, and implement solutions as needed. Select and/or develop appropriate content.

    Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications:

    + BS/BA and 7 years of relevant experience -OR-

    + MS/MA or higher and 5 years of relevant experience

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + Demonstrated experience in the design, development and delivery of leadership and staff programs.

    + Professional license and/or certification such as Building Relationship Versatility, 360 Assessments and Crucial Conversations

    + Experience in the design, development and delivery of experiential or simulation-based learning programs.

    + Training or certification and experience working as leadership or executive coach.

    Security, Credentialing, and Eligibility Requirements

     

    In accordance with Homeland Security Presidential Directive 12 (HSPD-12) and Department of Energy (DOE) Order 473.1A, new employees are required to obtain and maintain a HSPD-12 Personal Identity Verification (PIV) Credential. To obtain this credential, new employees must successfully complete and pass a Federal Tier 1 background check investigation. This investigation includes a declaration of illegal drug activities, including use, supply, possession, or manufacture within the last year. This includes marijuana and cannabis derivatives, which are still considered illegal under federal law, regardless of state laws.

    For foreign national candidates:

    If you have not resided in the U.S. for three consecutive years, you are not eligible for the PIV credential and instead will need to obtain a favorable Local Site Specific Only (LSSO)risk determination to maintain employment. Once you meet the three-year residency requirement, you will be required to obtain a PIV credential to maintain employment.

    Mandatory Requirements

    Please be aware that the Department of Energy (DOE) prohibits DOE employees and contractors from having any affiliation with the foreign government of a country DOE has identified as a “country of risk” without explicit approval by DOE and Battelle. Starting pay is calculated from the minimum of the pay range and actual placement in the range is determined based on an individual’s relevant job-related skills, qualifications, and experience. Instead, our compensation offers are determined by the specific requirements of the position, prevailing market trends, applicable collective bargaining agreements, pay equity for the position type, and individual qualifications and skills relevant to the performance of the position.

    USD $115,400.00/Yr.

     

    Maximum Salary

     

    USD $178,700.00/Yr.
