Role Description

Wiser is looking for qualified candidates with a basic understanding of geographic information systems (GIS). Comprehensive training is provided on the software, GIS, and source materials needed to complete the work. Apprentices work as a team to collect, maintain, analyze, and interpret geographic information as needed for our clients.

Responsibilities

+ Perform digital feature extraction from multiple data sources

+ Attribute digital data accurately

+ Understand and follow project specific guidance

+ Independently use technical resource and guidance documents

+ Clean geographic data errors and omissions

+ Apply cartographic editing techniques to include feature displacement, thinning, symbolization, and annotation

+ Suggest and implement improved work methods

Minimum Qualifications

+ U.S. Citizen

+ Basic familiarity with ArcGIS or GIS software.

+ Workspace which is suitable for remote work with high-speed internet and multiple monitors. A laptop will be provided.

+ Ability to self-lead using customer guidance

+ Ability to meet production deadlines with minimal errors

+ Ability to communicate with a diverse team of people

Work Environment

+ Work is performed remotely, Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week (8 hours per day). Providing your own hardware may be required.
