As a Engineer II or Technical Specialist II, you will ensure system integrity while maintaining compliance, the safety of facility equipment and overall pipeline operations. Project planning, teamwork and evaluation skills are keys to success in this role and safety is of utmost importance!
A day in the life of an Engineer or Technical Specialist on our process safety team involves collaborating with colleagues to tackle challenging assignments that ensure compliance with WIMS and OSHA PSM/EPA RMP regulations. This role includes leading the Maximo MOC and Action Tracking process/application, serving as a content lead and subject matter expert for process safety procedures, and acting as a resource for audits and inspections. The specialist resolves complex issues through technical evaluation and innovation, develops and presents process safety training programs, and mentors team members. Additionally, they provide specialized guidance on process safety regulatory issues to ensure compliance.

Technical Specialist II Responsibilities/Expectations:
+ Performs routine and moderately sophisticated technical assignments that ensure system integrity, compliance, facility equipment maintenance and pipeline operations support
+ Engages in project planning and collaborates with company partners to ensure accurate and available data
+ Develops an understanding of the industry and operating requirements
+ Adheres to all Company policies and safety procedures
+ Leads risk analysis, mitigation, and quality assurance for Williams facilities
+ Champions process improvements, industry benchmarks, and the development of advanced risk management tools
+ Interprets and guides the organization on process safety regulations
+ Mentors partners in developing process safety documentation and reports
+ Other duties as assigned
Education/Years of Experience:
+ Required: High school diploma/GED and equivalent experience or Associates degree in technical field and a minimum two (2) years’ experience in oil & gas industry
+ Preferred: Bachelor's degree in a technical field or engineering and a minimum four (4) years of progressive experience in field operations or other technical specialty
Physical and Environment Work Requirements:
Must be willing to:
+ Work in extreme temperatures, with loud noises and in enclosed spaces
+ Carry or lift items up to 50 lbs and team lift loads of more than 50 lbs as needed
+ Stand, walk, climb, bend, stoop, and squat, often for long periods of time
+ Work at elevated levels, potentially from man lifts, ladders, scaffolding, and/or small towers, with appropriate PPE (Personal Protection Equipment)
+ Use hand tools
Shift/Work Hours/Travel Requirements:
+ Available to work after hours, on-call rotations, nights, weekend shifts and holidays as the need arises
+ May be required to work overtime, 10-12 hour shifts and travel between Williams locations with occasional overnight stays
Other Requirements:
+ Must possess valid State Driver’s License and clean driving record
+ Exhibits excellent organizational/interpersonal skills and safety as a main priority
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office Application and PC skills
Engineer II
Responsibilities/Expectations:
+ Performs a wide spectrum of assignments, requiring technical evaluation, innovation, and judgement while maintaining customer satisfaction
+ Works with an increased level of independence but requires supervision on mid-sized projects/technical assignments supporting operations
+ Develops an understanding of industry and operational requirements
+ Demonstrates knowledge of safety requirements, produces results and meets goals
+ Applies knowledge of Company processes, policies, procedures, and guidelines established by organization and governing agencies
+ Prepares and delivers presentations to individuals and groups
+ Leads risk analysis, mitigation, and quality assurance for Williams facilities
+ Champions process improvements, industry benchmarks, and the development of advanced risk management tools
+ Interprets and guides the organization on process safety regulations
+ Mentors partners in developing process safety documentation and reports
+ Other duties as assigned
Education/Years of Experience:
+ Required: Bachelor’s Degree in relevant Engineering field from an accredited college or university, OR Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Technology in a relevant field with Professional Engineer (P.E.) license; A minimum of two (2) years of engineering experience in the natural gas or petrochemical industry
Other Requirements:
+ Exhibits excellent organizational/interpersonal skills and deems safety an utmost priority
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office Application and PC skills
+ Preferred: FE Certification
