    The IT Financial Applications Manager will lead the operational management of Clark Construction Group's critical suite of Financial applications, primarily based on the SAP S4/HANA platform. This role requires a highly skilled individual to provide functional leadership and expertise in SAP finance and accounting processes while working closely with the business, SAP Center of Excellence (COE), and IT teams. The ideal candidate will ensure the system's functionality supports business objectives and drives continuous improvement in financial operations, reporting, and processes across the organization while fostering strong collaboration with critical business stakeholders.

    Responsibilities

    Strategic Application Management:

    + Develop and implement comprehensive application roadmaps aligned with Clark’s strategic Accounting and Finance objectives.

    + Serve as a liaison between the Finance department, the SAP Center of Excellence (COE), and IT teams to ensure that business requirements are properly understood and translated into system configurations and enhancements.

    + Work closely with senior Finance leadership, project managers, procurement teams, and other business stakeholders to ensure that financial processes are integrated seamlessly into SAP S4/HANA, supporting efficient and effective business operations.

    + Ensure that financial accounting processes within SAP S4/HANA comply with regulatory requirements (GAAP, IFRS) and company policies. Provide necessary documentation and respond to audit queries to assist with internal and external audits.

    + Identify opportunities to leverage SAP S4/HANA functionality to streamline financial operations, improve reporting capabilities, and enhance decision-making processes. Provide recommendations for process automation, simplification, and optimization.

    + Lead the IT Finance application support organization in a proactive, value-driven model.

    + Drive the development and maintenance of business continuity plans.

    + Establish and maintain effective vendor relationships to ensure optimal support and service delivery.

    + Ensure all application-related processes and systems align with current and evolving Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) standards.

    + Ensure the security and compliance of the Finance application suite by overseeing its configuration, proactively managing security settings, and verifying adherence to enterprise policies and regulatory requirements through regular audits and assessments.

    + Oversee the design and delivery of financial reporting within SAP S4/HANA, ensuring accurate and timely financial statements, balance sheets, and income statements. Collaborate with business stakeholders to create and refine custom reports as needed.

    + Ensure accurate cost tracking, forecasting, and reporting for construction projects within SAP S4/HANA.

    + Support construction operations with insights into project performance, variances, and profitability.

    Technical Oversight:

    + Lead the configuration and optimization of SAP S4/HANA finance and controlling modules (FICO), ensuring alignment with the company’s financial processes and business requirements in the construction industry.

    + Work with cross-functional teams and business stakeholders to gather, analyze, and translate business requirements into system functionality, ensuring that SAP S4/HANA supports key finance, accounting, construction operations, and cost control processes.

    + Lead or support SAP HANA implementation and upgrade projects, from requirement gathering and blueprinting to post-go-live support, ensuring that financial processes are optimized and that the system meets the needs of the business.]

    + Design SAP S4/HANA solutions to meet the specific financial accounting needs of the construction industry, ensuring that best practices are followed and that the system meets both operational and strategic goals.

    + Possess a strong ability to analyze complex business processes and financial data, identify issues, and propose innovative solutions.

    + Work closely with the SAP COE and IT teams to manage system changes, upgrades, and enhancements, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.

    + Proficient in financial reporting tools within SAP, external reporting systems (Power BI), Excel, and other business intelligence tools.

    + Experience integrating SAP S4/HANA with other related business systems (e.g., Procore, Primavera P6, Box, Salesforce, Coupa).

    + In-depth knowledge of SAP S4/HANA Finance (FICO) modules, including configuration, reporting, and best practices.

    + Demonstrated experience in leading or supporting SAP S4/HANA implementation projects, upgrades, or system optimizations in a financial accounting context.

    + Familiarity with other SAP S4/HANA modules that interact with (FICO) modules, such as Group Reporting, PS, CPM, SD, and MM.

    Team Leadership and Development:

    + Recruit, mentor, and manage a team of Application Analysts.

    + Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the team.

    + Ensure team members have the necessary skills and knowledge to support application initiatives.

    Application Lifecycle Management:

    + Oversee the implementation of new features and functionalities, ensuring thorough testing, training, and communication.

    + Manage application license agreements and track usage to optimize costs and compliance.

    + Ensure application availability and performance through proactive monitoring and reporting.

    + Develop and maintain a comprehensive knowledge base to support users and facilitate knowledge sharing.

    + Manage audit and compliance tracking related to applications.

    + Provide ongoing support to resolve functional issues within the SAP system, collaborating with the IT support team and external SAP consultants to troubleshoot and implement fixes.

    Stakeholder Engagement:

    + Establish regular engagement with Finance and Accounting stakeholders to understand their needs and priorities.

    + Act as a liaison between IT, Finance, and Accounting, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.

    + Gather and analyze business requirements to inform the application roadmap and development initiatives.

    + Ensure that application-related processes and procedures are clearly communicated.

    + Develop training materials and conduct knowledge transfer sessions for business users and IT staff. Ensure that users are proficient in using SAP HANA for financial reporting, reconciliation, and analysis.

    Performance Measurement and Improvement:

    + Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure application performance and team effectiveness.

    + Analyze data and metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.

    + Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance application support and service delivery.

    Basic Qualifications

    + Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.

    + 7+ years of experience in financial accounting or finance management, with at least 3 years of experience as a functional lead or SAP consultant in the SAP S4/HANA Finance (FICO) modules.

    + Experience in IT operations, with a focus on financial application management.

    + Minimum of 3 years working in the construction or engineering sector, with a deep understanding of project cost accounting, financial management, and construction-specific accounting practices.

    + Proven experience in leading and managing application support teams.

    + Experience in developing and implementing application roadmaps and business continuity plans.

    + Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.

    + Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships with business stakeholders and vendors.

    + Experience with audit and compliance tracking.

    + Experience with application license management.

    + Proven ability to move an organization from a reactive to a proactive support model.

    + Proven ability to ensure adherence to cybersecurity policies and best practices, including experience with application security testing and compliance with industry-standard frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001).

    Preferred Qualifications

    + Experience with project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).

    + Knowledge of cloud-based application management.

    + Experience with ITIL framework.

    + Professional Certifications (e.g., CPA, CMA, or SAP S4/HANA certifications) are a plus.
