What you'll be doing
As a Credit Process Specialist, Commercial Banking, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of the end-to-end credit process through ownership and development of the governing documents, templates and other tools that drive and define the requirements of the Commercial Banking credit process. You will work within Commercial Banking and cross-functionally to evaluate our credit process with a focus on continuous improvement, identifying opportunities to update, enhance and streamline the credit process based on observation / feedback, control testing, industry / regulatory guidance, and other factors. This role plays an important part in fostering a consistent and sustainable credit process that reinforces a strong risk management culture while ensuring we can meet the needs of our clients and other key stakeholders.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
+ Subject matter expert on Commercial Banking credit process
+ Create, update, and maintain guidelines, procedures, job aides, and other materials covering the overarching Commercial Banking credit process in coordination with the CAO Office
+ Advise on updates to similar documents owned by Commercial Banking designated specialty areas and Credit Risk Management
+ Contribute directly or provide feedback on project deliverables related to credit process (e.g., new, or updated functionality introduced within the loan origination system and other credit applications)
+ Develop and deliver communications and training content covering topics related to Commercial Banking credit process; coordinate with the Commercial Banking Training & Development Program on similar activities
+ Identify opportunities for improvement in the credit process; work with CAO Office, Frontline Tools and other stakeholders to solution and implement these fixes
+ Participate or lead in the execution of issue remediation plans covering Commercial Banking credit process in conjunction with other identified stakeholders and the CAO Office
+ Foster a strong culture around effective change management
+ Ensure Commercial Banking credit process structured to meet compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards
How you'll succeed
+ **Understanding and Documenting Requirements** - Leveraging your prior experience with credit process, you will facilitate discussions with business and other stakeholders to understand their needs, gather detailed business requirements and create/update corresponding documentation. Build strong relationships, lead discussions, listen and ask the right questions to ensure solutions meet requirements.
+ **Leading and Mentoring** – Support end-to-end project implementation as a subject matter expert, and provide guidance to a diverse team of technology and project professionals. Maintain a collaborative work environment and support team members to resolve organizational, operational, and process problems.
+ **Organization** - Oversee requests from various stakeholders and thoughtfully create and/or edit a wide variety of presentation and communication materials (e.g. key messages, communication plans, tactical deliverables, presentations etc.).
+ **Communication** - Superior interpersonal and communication skills sufficient to convey or present factual and conceptual information on issues which require detailed explanation and interpretation.
+ **Production Support** - Conduct investigation and provide resolution (with help of developers when needed) for issues brought up by business.
Who you are
+ **You have a college degree/diploma** and you’ve spent at least 5 years (currently or prior experience) in commercial banking related roles (e.g., credit underwriting and analysis, relationship / portfolio manager, etc.).
+ **You have working knowledge of** commercial banking products and concepts; knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards related to commercial credit underwriting preferred.
+ **You are highly organized** and enjoy managing a process ecosystem of interrelated documentation and other supporting materials, and able to track details and keep everything in sync across multiple initiatives and regular cycles of change.

At CIBC, we offer a competitive total rewards package. This role has an expected salary range of $120,000.00 - $140,000.00 for the market based on experience, qualifications, and location of the position. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit’s incentive compensation plan, which may also include a discretionary bonus component.
