    The Balance Sheet Governance (BSG) Function sets forth the key principles and expectations relating to Balance Sheet Reconciliation and Substantiation processes at Citi. BSG is an independent function responsible for establishing the policy requirements and monitoring, assessing and reporting compliance with the requirements. Balance Sheet Reconciliation and Substantiation processes serve as a detective control to identify potential errors in Balance Sheet accounts and to mitigate the risk of a material misstatement within Citi’s financial statements.

     

    The BSG Risk and Control Group Manager for this program will be responsible for managing a global team across governance, overseeing and driving the execution/refinement of the end-to-end process and technology architecture for the Balance Sheet Governance function. This role requires strong global banking experience along with strong understanding of banking structures and products. Excellent communication skills are required to negotiate internally, to influence outcomes, and advise senior stakeholders. Full management responsibility for team, including management of people, budget and planning, to include duties such as performance evaluation, compensation, hiring, and disciplinary actions. Role will be a direct report to the Balance Sheet Governance Lead.

     

    **Responsibilities** :

    + Responsibilities:• Responsible for identifying, initiating and leading initiatives that ensure compliance with BSRS policy and/or improve risk management of Citi’s Balance Sheet• Manage BSG eRecon application change management, compliance and integrity; ensuring application compliance with all policy and control requirements (eRecon is BSG application for managing and monitoring substantiation activities)• Partners with finance, technology and operations in delivery of BSG change initiatives• Lead in development of new concepts and approaches to solving challenges in BSRS processes, procedures, data and systems• Liaise with senior stakeholders across Lines of Business and Functions to design and execute against BSG commitments, drive alignment on execution steps and timing in the adoption of enterprise change• Provide guidance and advice with stakeholders across lines of business, regions and functions (e.g., sharing best practices, educating on consistent approaches, helping with interpretation of enterprise guidance)• Prepare and present regular team/project reviews and risk assessments to senior management and business leaders• Drive the design and development of system architecture, work with end-users of the systems, and enhance the quality of the end-to-end BSG Process• Contribute to defining and implementing best practices and processes for the department and ensure transparency and consistency across teams• Evaluates the design of controls and communicate the impact of control weaknesses to management and control implementers.• Able to present and lead discussions with key regulators, and internal and external auditors.• Accountable for the completeness and integrity of core BSG systems and data• Full management responsibility of team, including management of people, budget and planningQualifications:• 15+ years of relevant experience within the financial services industry required• Strong knowledge of banking products/systems• Extensive experience leading large, global teams for finance/operations transformation programs is required• Frequently involved with a variety of broad based and complex initiatives requiring conceptual thinking.• Can effectively lead change in an organization with Citigroup’s size, scale and complexity; Experience leveraging the processes and principles of change management to drive organizational change, defining change criteria, providing support and education, managing resistance, and measuring outcomes• Manages through ambiguity by making sense of complex, high quantity and sometimes contradictory information to effectively solve problems• Expertise presenting & socializing with Senior Management across Business & Technology• Sense of urgency in implementing programs and evaluating priorities; decisive, action-oriented and practical.• Willingness to challenge and question the status quo, making recommendations for options and best solutions.• Demonstrated strategic thinking skills. Organizationally astute, with influencing, collaboration and communication skills. Personal presence, intellect, energy and drive to succeed in a high-performance environment.• Able to analyze and think through highly complex issues, but then appropriately execute and implement against a well thought through framework in a seamless manner. A global citizen who is comfortable in all geographies, regions and cultures.• Strong leadership, communication, and presentation skills including the ability to adapt her/his style to suit the different needs of any audience.• Experience in the Citi Controller function preferred but not required• Knowledge of Citi General Ledger Systems (Full Suite, Strategic Ledger) and BSG Systems (eRecon) preferred but not required

    **Qualifications** :

    + 15+ years of experience in financial services field/Risk and Control field

    + Excellent management presentation skills (Powerpoint, Project plan and Status reporting, Executive presence)

    + Strategic thinker with strong analytical skills and the ability to translate complex concepts in a concise manner and a track record of managing and reviewing large projects in complex operational environments.

    + Excellent project management and organizational skills.

    + Outstanding relationship building and management skills

    + Excellent written and verbal communication skills

    + Proficient in Microsoft Office with an emphasis on advanced MS Excel

    + Self-motivated and detail oriented

    **Education** :

     

    Bachelors degree required, potentially relevant certification or Masters degree in relevant field a plus
