    Description

    8am - 5pm / Full Time/ 40 Hours

     

    We are seeking a capable **Licensed Practical Nurse** **/ LPN** who has acquired broad experience in caring for patients, and has developed a sound understanding about the care of a particular patient population.

     

    + The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides direct and indirect nursing care to patients and families in routine nursing situations within the LPN scope of practice.

    + Under the supervision of a registered nurse or licensed provider, the LPN assists in patient care, treatment, and comfort.

    + This role is an integral part of the healthcare team, ensuring quality care in alignment with Emory Healthcare's patient and family-centered care standards.

    + Patient Care & Clinical Duties: Provide patient care based on an individualized plan delegated by the Registered Nurse/Physician.

    + Monitor and document patient conditions, including vital signs, wound care, drains, and lab values.

    + Assist with medical procedures, treatments, and medication administration as per scope of practice.

    + Collect and document patient data using specialized equipment as needed (e.g., glucometer, pulse oximeter).

    + Maintain a clean, safe, and therapeutic environment following safety and infection control protocols.

    + Communication & Collaboration: Establish and maintain communication with the healthcare team, patients, and families.

    + Inform the supervising Registered Nurse/Physician about patient activities, observations, and changes in condition.

    + Provide patient and family education related to health conditions, treatment plans, and home care.

    + Documentation & Compliance: Ensure accurate and confidential maintenance of patient medical records.

    + Adhere to universal precautions and patient safety standards in all interactions.

    + Follow Emory Healthcare's policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

    + Quality Improvement & Professional Development

    + Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to best practices in patient care.

    + Conduct or assist with in-service training and continuous learning opportunities.

    + May serve on sectional, departmental, or organizational committees as needed.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    + Education:High School Diploma or GED required.

    + Graduate of an accredited Licensed Practical Nursing Program.

    + Experience: Previous experience preferred but not required.

    + Licensure: A valid, unencumbered license as a Practical Nurse in the State of Georgia.

    + Skills: Strong patient care, communication, and documentation skills.

    + Certifications: BLS

    + Preferred Qualifications: Experience: Previous nursing experience preferred but not required.
