Job Summary
The Call-in Pioneer Bookstore Assistant – Events and Merchandising plays a key role in providing exceptional customer service, sales support, and hospitality. This position works a flexible schedule, covering regular shift hours as needed and assisting during evening author events, special engagements, and regular store operations. Responsibilities include supporting daily store operations, assisting with event preparation, merchandise presentation, and daily merchandising efforts such as setting up displays and restocking inventory. The assistant also participates in special projects as assigned by management. Flexibility, attention to detail, strong customer service skills, and enthusiasm for working in a dynamic environment are essential to success in this role.
This is a part-time role, working up to 10 hours per week, with a variable schedule between 8:00 AM and 6:00 PM. Availability for Saturday shifts from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM is required, with occasional later hours during special weekend events. Total hours worked will be less than 975 hours per year.
Key Responsibilities
+ Deliver excellent customer service by assisting visitors and processing sales transactions.
+ Support event operations by helping with setup, hospitality, and guest services during author events and special programs.
+ Perform data entry tasks related to inventory, sales tracking, and event reporting.
+ Assist with merchandising by setting up product displays, restocking shelves, and maintaining an organized sales floor.
+ Participate in special projects and provide general administrative support as needed.

Minimum Qualifications
+ High school diploma or general education degree ( GED )
+ One year or more
