Are you passionate about supporting graduate education and making a meaningful impact in the humanities? Join our team as a Graduate Program Coordinator II, where you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the academic journey of graduate students in the departments of English, Global Languages & Cultures, History, and Philosophy. You will be the primary point of contact for both prospective and current students, as well as faculty, offering guidance on academic programs and university policies. You'll also serve as a key liaison with the College of Arts & Sciences graduate studies administration, ensuring seamless communication and support across departments. Opportunities to Contribute
+ Provides comprehensive administrative support for graduate programs across multiple humanities departments.
+ Assists graduate directors and advisors with program operations, student services, and policy implementation.
+ Serves as the primary contact for graduate students, faculty, and administrators regarding academic policies, procedures, and resources.
+ Advises prospective students on admissions, application processes, and program offerings, coordinates with university offices on special cases.
+ Manages applicant and student data using systems such as AIS, Banner, WebAdMIT, Compass, Argos, and Howdy.
+ Processes academic actions including registration issues, Q-drops, petitions, forces, and degree plan approvals.
+ Supports recruitment, orientation, recognition events, and professional development programming for graduate students.
+ Collaborates on recruitment strategies and tracks prospective student engagement.
+ Develops and maintains graduate student success initiatives and alumni databases.
+ Provides administrative support for graduate courses, curriculum updates, and course proposals via CARS.
+ Manages Graduate Assistant (GAT) course access and tracks training status in TATEP.
+ Collects, analyzes, and reports program data for strategic planning and stakeholder reporting.
+ Assists with updates to program policies and procedures based on assessments and reporting outcomes.
+ Maintains organized records, files, and standard operating procedures in compliance with university policies.
+ Participates in team meetings, working groups, and professional development activities with the Graduate Studies administration team.
+ Trains and supervises student assistants as needed.
Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
+ One year of experience in program coordination, administration, or related field.
A well-qualified candidate will also possess
+ Master’s Degree preferred.
+ Four years of relevant administrative experience.
+ Prefer previous employment in a higher education setting.
+ Working knowledge of standard office equipment.
+ Ability to plan and organize effectively.
+ Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing.
+ Ability to positively and professionally interact with clients and staff.
+ Working knowledge of office software (word processing, spreadsheet, database, presentation).
Salary: Compensation will be commensurate based on the selected hire’s education and experience.
Schedule: This position may require work beyond normal office hours and/or work on weekends.
