In this role, you’ll oversee the admissions and recruitment process for graduate students, ensuring a seamless and welcoming experience from application to enrollment. You’ll also play a key role in driving student success initiatives, offering guidance and support that helps students thrive throughout their academic journey. With a strong focus on data accuracy and program effectiveness, you’ll help maintain essential records and contribute to continuous improvement efforts. Opportunities to Contribute
+ Works with Associate Head for Graduate Program and Graduate Advisors in planning, directing, and coordinating operational and procedural matters to meet the graduate program's goals and objectives.
+ Works with the Graduate Program Committee to develop strategic plans for the graduate program based on departmental goals, included but not limited to: recruiting, admissions, and retention.
+ Assists the Graduate Programs Committee with program assessment and implementation.
+ Maintains accurate data related to graduate students and programs.
+ Provides leadership to the graduate program in the absence of the Graduate Advisor.
+ Provides supervision and leadership for student workers in the graduate advising office.
+ Serves on management teams with Graduate Advisor.
+ Represents the Department, Division, and/or University on multiple committees.
+ Coordinates and supports the production of events or activities for graduate students.
+ Participates in training and professional development with a special emphasis on leadership development, management, industry related acumen, and project and operations management.
+ Performs general administrative tasks that are essential to supporting program operations.
Qualifications
+ Bachelor's degree.
+ One year of experience in program coordination or similar role.
A well-qualified candidate will also possess
+ Experience working with graduate student populations and programs.
+ Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
+ Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
+ Familiarity with event planning and coordination.
+ Understanding of graduate admissions and program operations.
+ Knowledge of academic advising principles and student support.
+ Proficiency in standard office software and technology.
+ Ability to work with confidential/security sensitive information.
Salary: Compensation will be commensurate based on the selected hire’s education and experience.
Special Note: This position is funded from grant and/or contract funding, which is renewed through provisions of the grantor of the contract. Therefore, this position is contingent upon continuation of funding from these grants and/or contracts, as well as satisfactory job performance.
