Join the Texas A&M School of Public Health as an Associate Research Scientist in the area of Health Policy and Management ! As an Assistant Research Scientist, you'll conduct research in your field of expertise, contributing to projects that align with the goals of the Population Informatics lab. You'll leverage your education and experience to complete research projects, write and contribute to research papers, articles, and publications. Additionally, you'll assist with the preparation and cleaning of the worksite and collaborate with other researchers and faculty. Opportunities to Contribute
+ Research: Design health database studies, conduct research, manage and analyze data, and write reports and papers based on the findings. Utilize your expertise to complete research projects in the Population Informatics Lab, analyze research data and summarize results, contribute to research paper, articles, and publications, and assist with grant writing and acquisition.
+ Presentations: Prepare presentation materials on research topics for small or large groups and actively participate in preparing technical progress reports for research sponsors.
+ Administrative/Mentoring: Assist, mentor, and supervise student researchers and graduate students who are working on the project.
Minimum Required Qualifications
+ Appropriate PhD in a related field
+ Some experiences in a specialized and relevant field of research
The well-qualified candidate will also possess
+ PhD in data science, and/or public health or related fields including industrial and systems engineering, computer science, economics, statistics, mathematics, physics, epidemiology, social work, sociology, and psychology
+ Experience in data analysis using statistical software (e.g., R, Python, SAS, or STATA)
+ Experience in analyzing the data applying machine learning techniques
+ Experience in various other analysis methods (e.g., multivariate regression, time series)
+ Experience working with large population dataset
+ Experience in working with high-performance computing (HPC) clusters and distributed systems to process large-scale data
+ Experience in grant writing and obtaining research funding

Salary: Compensation will be commensurate to the selected hire’s experience.
