Job Description

A large midstream operator is seeking an Automation & Controls Specialist to support their team at an RNG (Renewable Natural Gas) Plant Facility in Danville, Indiana. This person will support troubleshooting and programming initiatives plant-wide. Some of the daily responsibilities include:

- Troubleshoot and resolve automation and compressor controls issues that cannot be remedied at the local Operations group level. This could include: failed compressor / engine starts, unit trips, erratic operation of compressors, and pumps, motors/VFDs.

- Maintain and troubleshoot reciprocating engine and PLC code in compressor unit and compressor station controllers as well as ancillary equipment, ESD and safety systems.

- Maintain and troubleshoot compressor station HMI node programs and provide direct support to HMI hardware.

- Provide technical input/assistance at key phases of capital projects (scoping, design review & commissioning).

- Review and implement company standards where applicable in PLC programming and HMI development/programming.

- Maintain and upgrade Data Historian hardware and software.

- Support multiple controls platforms including: Inductive Automation - Ignition, RS Panel View, and Rockwell/Allen Bradley

- Provide technical advice and support to Controls Specialist/Operators and site leadership the basics of plant operations and troubleshooting.

Skills and Requirements

- Associates Degree in Electronics, Computer, or Engineering Technology OR significant industrial automation experience

- Knowledge of PLC programming

- Experience with Allen Bradley / Rockwell

- Experience with operational and maintenance support of compressors or process plant systems null
