    As a Senior TPM, you will be responsible for building region-aware and speed-optimized experiences that enhance Amazon's speed perception while simultaneously reducing the overall Cost-to-Serve. Through your innovative thinking and cross-functional collaboration, you will shape the future of Amazon's operational efficiency and customer delight.

     

    In this role, you will lead and work with a talented team to innovate and deliver business and software solutions. Your ability to define and develop analytical solutions is essential. You will work with teams across Amazon and interact with business stakeholders directly. In addition, successful candidates will lead by example, balance analytical responsibilities while participating in cross team efforts, including architecture planning.

     

    To be successful in this role, you should be comfortable gathering requirements across the many retail systems, creating and maintaining technical project plans and diving into the technical details to understand the nuances and complexities involved.     Key job responsibilities

     

    The ideal candidate will have hands-on project and program management skills, leading large cross-functional projects from definition to launch.

    As a Technical Program Manager on the team, you will:

    - Have end to end ownership of cross-functional projects, including program definition, roadmap planning, resource planning and project execution.

     

    - Manage multiple complex systems and organizations, make appropriate trade-offs between business vs. technical constraints, clearly communicate goals, roles, and responsibilities.

     

    - Be hands on in driving the delivery of critical business initiatives, managing all aspects of the project such as project planning, requirements definition, risk management, communication, and implementation planning.

     

    - Work closely with business and operations leadership, including executive leadership at Amazon, to define the product and provide updates on the program.

     

    - Be a technical problem solver on the team, identifying innovative solutions to project deadlocks and resolving issues and constraints through consensus and sound judgment.

     

    - Oversee both business initiatives and strategic projects focused on reducing launch time and total cost.

     

    - Own project decisions, achieving tactical goals while retaining a strategic focus.

    Basic Qualifications

    - 5+ years of technical product or program management experience

     

    - 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience

     

    - 3+ years of software development experience

     

    - 5+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience

     

    - Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules

    Preferred Qualifications

    - 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience

     

    - Strong business and technical vision

     

    - Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment

     

    - A deep understanding of software development in a team, and a track record of shipping software on time

     

    - Proven ability to influence senior leadership (Director, VP) level

    Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $133,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $231,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
