    Description

This role is located in our offices in New York, Seattle, or Washington, DC.

At Amazon Autos, we're embarking on an ambitious mission to revolutionize the automotive shopping landscape. We're seeking a Senior Product Manager-Tech to join our dynamic team and lead our Pricing Analytics & Promotions initiatives. In this role, you'll obsess over price transparency for our customers and build the pipelines and mechanisms that will enable marketing and B2B customers to run promotions. Success in this role demands a data-driven mindset, strong analytical skills, and the ability to forge robust partnerships with Tech, Science and Account Management teams.

This position calls for a leader who can balance strategic thinking with tactical execution—someone who's comfortable diving deep into data to identify the best opportunities to improve the customer experience.

By joining us, you'll play a pivotal role in reshaping how people discover and purchase vehicles, contributing to a more seamless, transparent, and customer-centric car-buying experience. If you're ready to make your mark on a rapidly growing industry and drive innovation at the intersection of technology and automotive retail, this could be the career-defining opportunity you've been seeking.

    Key job responsibilities

Working in close partnership with our technology team, you'll shape the product roadmap with careful consideration of multiple competing priorities. You'll need to make strategic decisions that balance developer efficiency, customer satisfaction, and speed to market, often navigating complex trade-offs to achieve optimal outcomes.

A key focus in this role will be on price transparency, which demands an in-depth understanding of third-party feeds and architecture. You'll need to leverage this knowledge to ensure detailed and accurate pricing information is presented to customers, enhancing their trust and satisfaction with our product.

Your role will require strong influence and negotiation skills to effectively manage relationships with third-party vendors and teams. You'll be responsible for securing and managing strategic partnerships, negotiating contracts, and ensuring vendors deliver the necessary data and services to augment our pricing and promotion capabilities. This includes identifying gaps in our pricing information and sourcing additional data feeds when needed to maintain comprehensive coverage.

As the pricing manager, you'll be expected to review your own reports daily, maintaining a keen eye on pricing trends and market dynamics. Additionally, you'll play a crucial support role for account managers and dealers, providing them with insights and data-driven recommendations.

Clear communication is vital in this role, and you'll be responsible for creating comprehensive product documentation that serves as a blueprint for our teams. You'll ensure that business stakeholders, design teams, and developers all have a shared understanding of requirements and objectives, fostering alignment across all departments involved in product development. Your expertise in third-party integrations and pricing structures will be crucial in developing strategies that not only meet customer needs but also maintain competitive edge in the market. You'll need to work closely with data teams to ensure that our pricing information is always up-to-date, accurate, and presented in a user-friendly manner, while also being readily accessible to account managers and dealers who rely on this information for their day-to-day operations.

    A day in the life

As a leader in this role, you'll be at the intersection of customer needs, business strategy, and product development. Your day typically begins by engaging directly with customers, gathering their valuable feedback and understanding their evolving requirements. These insights become the foundation for strategic decisions.

You'll collaborate closely with business intelligence and data engineering teams, translating customer needs into actionable insights and data-driven solutions. A significant portion of your time will be spent partnering with business development colleagues to secure strategic licenses and partnerships that enhance our product offerings.

Given the importance of data privacy in today's landscape, you'll work hand-in-hand with our legal team to ensure all initiatives meet compliance requirements and protect our customers' interests. Your unique position and comprehensive understanding of both customer needs and technical capabilities make you a key voice in leadership discussions, where you'll influence critical decisions about product roadmap and prioritization.

Project management is a core responsibility, and you'll oversee various project phases, paying particular attention to beta testing to ensure successful product launches. You'll also maintain ownership of the profit and loss statement, actively address customer concerns, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize our operations and customer experience
