The Manager Supplier Quality will be responsible for managing both the advanced and current supplier quality functions. The Manager Supplier Quality will support the supplier quality activities between our production facilities, Engineering and Global Sourcing teams. This role will work with suppliers to improve quality systems and performance and will execute problem resolution to determine root cause with the use of corrective action and 8D problem solving methods. The Manager Supplier Quality will lead the regional field SQE team to provide end to end total quality assurance on purchased finished goods and parts. Travel will be required between local facilities and global suppliers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
+ Leads and manages supplier quality activities for new product introduction with suppliers, components and purchased finished goods, including effective project management, coordination and deployment of resources, and writing and delivering reports and assessments.
+ Monitors, analyzes, reports, and effectively uses quality data to increase customer satisfaction and reduce risk.
+ Drives root cause analyses and problem-solving utilizing Generac Quality Management System processes, LEAN methodology, and statistical tools.
+ Leads and manages supplier quality issues and corrective actions to positive customer results.
+ Supports the facility Quality Managers with follow up to supplier corrective actions.
+ Supports SGS Global sourcing projects through supplier assessments, design reviews, identifying component critical characteristics and PPAP execution.
+ Leads assigned regional supplier quality teams through mentorship, communication, and project management to execute on PPAP, SCAR and cost reduction initiatives.
+ Conducts improvement-focused internal and external quality system audits.
+ Identifies and supports closing gaps in the quality management system in alignment with the corporate quality team, strategic global sourcing, and engineering.
+ Designs and directs the work of the team. Selects, coaches, and develops staff. Sets clear expectations to inspire and motivate the team. Manages performance by recognizing achievement, providing feedback, and administering progressive discipline when necessary.
+ Develops and/or recommends operating and capital budgets and controls expenditures within approved budget objectives.

Minimum Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
+ 5 years’ experience working in Quality Assurance in a plant or supplier quality role.
+ 3 years’ experience working with PPAP procedures, APQP (Control Plan & PFMEA), PPAP and ISO.
+ 3 years’ experience leading/mentoring teams or leading large-scale projects.
+ Travel at least 35% of the time domestically and internationally
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Master’s degree
+ Certification / License
+ Certified Quality Engineer
+ Certified Quality Auditor
+ Certified Six Sigma Green Belt
+ Experience in a SQE role with an OEM company.
+ Experience working with international companies and in matrix organizations.
+ Product and process auditing experience.
+ Previous experience using SAP or equivalent ERP.
+ Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and statistical analysis software
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
+ Demonstrated knowledge of the application and interpretation of manufacturing/quality metrics.
+ Demonstrated knowledge in the implementation of lean principals and improvements.
+ Demonstrated ability to collaboratively work with teams to drive improvements.
+ Demonstrated ability to manage shifting deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
+ Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing.
+ Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and SAP business systems.
+ Good presentation skills at all levels.
+ Use of advanced problem-solving skills to resolve difficult issues.
+ Demonstrated ability to multi-task and problem solve in a fast-paced environment.
+ Knowledge of additional language(s) required based on region.
