Then please join us as an onsite Sr. Employee Relations Specialist at our Corporate Headquarters, where you will be directly responsible for the development and administration of the employee relations program, including but not limited to the employee onboarding experience, performance management, discipline, time & attendance, employee advocacy/engagement and affirmative action. This position interfaces with all levels of employees/management, government agencies, legal and other third party entities.

     

    Full Time or Part Time opportunity!

     

    Hours: Full Time = Mon - Fri 8a - 5p; Part Time = Mon - Fri 9a - 2:30p

    Reporting to the VP Human Resources, the successful candidate will:

    + Serve as the primary contact and liaison for intake and assessment of employee performance and misconduct issues.

    + Instruct, collaborate and participate with management on employee investigations on matters such as harassment allegations, workplace complaints, or other concerns.

    + Provide advice and guidance to all levels of management on employee performance and misconduct conduct issues.

    + Create employee policies and procedures.

    + Consult with the VP HR and legal counsel as needed on more complex employee matters involving multiple laws and regulations.

    + Participate in documentation and continuous improvement of HR policies and procedures.

    + Conduct surveys, interviews, and other research related to human resource policies, employee engagement and compensation.

    + Assist with preparation of plans, policies, documents, and reports including EEO-1, affirmative action plans, and employee and management handbooks.

    + Administer the equal employment opportunity and affirmative action programs.

    + Conduct exit interviews, summarizes findings, and discusses trends and concerns with senior management.

    + Create and present training materials on a variety of employee topics to employees at all levels.

    + Draft communication plans and messaging on behalf of senior leadership regarding HR topics.

    + Remain current on knowledge and understanding of laws and regulations related to employment law, EEO, affirmative action, compensation, time and attendance, etc

    Position Requirements:

    + Bachelors’ degree required, preferably in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field.

    + Minimum 5 years HR Generalist or Employee Relations Specialist experience required with minimum of two years’ experience independently handling employee relations issues required.

    + HR Certification Institute Senior Professional in HR (SPHR) / Professional in HR (PHR) OR SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) / SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) strongly preferred.

    + Knowledge of Equal Employment Opportunity and affirmative action requirements.

    + Thorough understanding of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations with the ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply these.

    + Strong analytical, problem-solving skills and critical thinking skills.

    + Strong proficiency with MS Office, internet sourcing, and proprietary software

    + Strong written and oral communication skills

    + Excellent interpersonal, counseling and conflict resolution skills.

    + Excellent organization and time management skills

     

    Travel Requirements: Up to 20% of travel expected to other campus locations as needed.
