The Warehouse Associate is responsible for completion of all customers orders filled including; filling customer orders and delivering them to a delivery platform in a manner that meets company standards. Operate a forklift to pull and store bins in a neat and orderly manner. Safe operation of all equipment is the top priority of this position. This individual is a generalist that can perform all the duties of physically receiving, picking, packing, kitting, shipping and cycle-counting.

Essential Functions

+ Receiving: upload incoming deliveries and complete a visual inspection for damage. Verify counts and items are correct and match up with the packing slips. Receive product into internal system

+ Order picking: locate product in warehouse using picket ticket. Check product and verify quantity

+ Packing Orders: ensure items picked are correct and package to customer's requirements. Label as required by customer

+ Shipping: package shipments per customer's request. Coordinate with shipping companies to meet customer's request. Set up delivery schedule for in house deliveries

+ Quality Control: ensure all orders are correct to customer's sizes and specifications (measure if required) check fit-form-function. Check that orders are accurate and free of any defects

+ Package and weigh any orders to customer's requirements. Conduct physical inventories as required

+ On a daily basis, inspect and do routine maintenance on equipment

+ Takes care of trash and cardboard in work area to keep clean

+ Reads, orders and makes a list to pull and put away bins in a fast but safe speed

+ Uses the monthly check list to ensure forklift is in proper working condition

Back Up VMI Driver

+ Safely operate Thruway vehicles and maintain a clean driving record

+ Check for consumption for re-order and work with customers to approve and adjust inventory levels to ensure optimum Thruway efficiency and customer satisfaction

+ Ensure all orders are correct to customer's sizes and specifications. Check quantity and quality of product as delivered to assure defect free.

+ Uses the monthly check list to ensure forklift is in proper working condition

Required Qualifications

+ Self-starter with outgoing personality, positive attitude, attention to detail

+ Excellent communication skills including listening and reading comprehension

+ Team-player who is willing to help others as needed

+ Read and count accurately

+ Professional demeanor and appearance

+ Safely operate forklift and pallet jacks

+ Prior warehouse experience is preferred, but not required

+ PPE- Safety Gloves

+ Possession a valid Driver's license

Work Environment

+ Occasionally works near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud

+ Frequently required to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls and to climb or balance

+ Regularly required to walk, stand, sit; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch; and talk or hear

+ Ability to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds.

+ Specific vision abilities required include: close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to focus

+ Occasional travel at other Thruway or customer locations may be required
