Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking an experienced _Software Engineer_ to join our team in the Payload and Ground Systems Division Engineering organization supporting the Integrated National Systems (INS) Business Unit (BU) to support a Ground program.
This position will be located at our **Aurora, Colorado** site. **This position requires being onsite and does not support remote or hybrid work.**
_This requisition may be filled at either a level 3 (Principal) or a level 4 (Sr. Principal), depending on the candidate’s experience as laid out in the basic qualifications detailed below as well as the interview assessment._
**Responsibilities include but are not limited to:** Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions. Conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software. Determines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions; designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems. Ensures software standards are met.
Basic Qualifications:
+ **Level 3 (Principal):** Bachelor’s degree in Science with 5+ years of software development experience; 3 years with a Master's; or 4 additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
+ **Level 4 (Sr. Principal):** Bachelor’s degree in Science with 8+ years of software development experience; 6 years with a Master's; or 4 additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
+ Experience developing on teams using Agile methodology, process, and tools
+ Experience designing, developing, and troubleshooting in Java
+ Familiarity with Kubernetes
+ Experience using object-oriented design and Micro service architecture
+ Experience with publisher/subscriber architectures
+ **Current** **Top Secret/SCI security clearance**
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Experience with REST architecture
+ Experience with GEMS
+ Experience designing, developing, and troubleshooting distributed systems
+ Experience as a full-stack developer
+ Experience with software development on Red Hat Enterprise Linux
+ Experience with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket)
+ Experience with software system integration, testing, and deployment
Salary Range: $110,300.00 - $165,500.00Salary Range 2: $137,400.00 - $206,000.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
