Description

We are looking for an experienced Payroll Specialist to join our team in Jersey City, New Jersey. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring accurate payroll processing and providing support to employees regarding payroll systems and procedures. This is a Contract-to-continuing position, offering an excellent opportunity to grow within the organization.

Responsibilities:

• Provide training and guidance to employees on payroll systems, including timesheet entry and accessing pay statements online.

• Perform data entry tasks using Excel and the organization's payroll software with a high degree of accuracy.

• Calculate and audit union-related payroll data in Excel as per instructions.

• Generate, download, and distribute payroll-related reports as required.

• Develop and run customized reports from the payroll system to meet organizational needs.

• Assist with the administration of employee benefits, including 401k and RRSP plans.

• Ensure compliance with payroll policies and procedures through regular auditing and review.

• Collaborate with team members to address payroll inquiries and resolve discrepancies.

• Support various accounting and benefit functions related to payroll.

• Perform additional payroll-related duties as assigned.

Requirements • Proficiency with accounting software systems and payroll platforms such as ADP Workforce Now, Ceridian, or Dayforce.

• Strong knowledge of payroll processing, including union calculations and benefit administration.

• Experience with Excel, including data entry and auditing capabilities.

• Familiarity with 401k and RRSP administration processes.

• Excellent attention to detail and ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.

• Strong organizational and time management skills to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

• Effective communication skills to train employees and address payroll-related inquiries.

• Previous experience in payroll or accounting functions is required.
