Description

A company in North Hollywood is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join the team. This role is essential for ensuring the timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments, as well as maintaining strong relationships with vendors and internal teams. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of accounts payable processes, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Process vendor invoices and ensure accuracy, proper approval, and appropriate coding to the general ledger.

Verify invoices against purchase orders and/or packing slips to ensure proper matching and resolve discrepancies, if any.

Prepare and execute payment runs, including checks, ACH, and wire transfers, while adhering to internal policies and payment schedules.

Reconcile accounts payable transactions and vendor statements, promptly identifying and addressing discrepancies.

Answer vendor inquiries regarding payments and provide timely resolution of issues.

Maintain accurate and organized records of all payments and relevant documents.

Assist with month-end closing processes, including reconciliation of accounts payable and preparation of related reports.

Support the finance team in maintaining compliance with company policies and relevant accounting regulations.

Identify areas for process improvement and assist in the implementation of more efficient workflows.

Collaborate with internal stakeholders, such as procurement and finance teams, to ensure smooth operations and alignment of financial processes.

Requirements

Skills and Qualifications:

Education: Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred (or comparable work experience).

Experience: Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in accounts payable or related finance roles.

Technical Proficiency:

Familiarity with common accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, or NetSuite).

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including intermediate to advanced knowledge of formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis.

Soft Skills:

Strong attention to detail and ability to process high volumes of invoices accurately.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with vendors and cross-functional teams.

Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and handle multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to effectively troubleshoot discrepancies and identify solutions.

Knowledge of general accounting principles (GAAP) and a commitment to compliance.
