Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team in Troy, New York. This Contract to Permanent position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to financial operations by ensuring accuracy and timeliness in payment processing and vendor communications. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong organizational skills and a commitment to providing thorough support to internal teams and external partners.

Responsibilities:

• Process biweekly check runs, managing the workflow from invoice receipt to payment and filing.

• Conduct monthly reviews of vendor statements to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies.

• Investigate and respond promptly to inquiries related to accounts payable.

• Support monthly financial close procedures and assist with audits as needed.

• Maintain and organize all documentation, including invoices, vendor correspondence, and related records.

• Deliver excellent customer service to faculty, staff, students, and vendors.

• Contribute to ongoing improvements in payment processes.

• Handle additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned. Requirements • Knowledge of accounts payable processes and general accounting principles.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

• Ability to work with accuracy and attention to detail while maintaining professionalism.

• Strong communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills.

• Experience with accounting software such as Oracle, QuickBooks, or SAP.

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field is preferred.

• At least 2 years of relevant experience in accounts payable or a similar role.
