Charlie Gilmur with Robert Half is looking for a skilled Billing Specialist to join our team in Portland, Oregon. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of the client billing process within a meticulous services environment. This position offers an opportunity to collaborate with attorneys and staff while contributing to the financial operations of the organization.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the complete client billing cycle, including invoice preparation, adjustments, and final payment processing.

• Review timekeeper entries and expense reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with firm policies and client agreements.

• Generate and process complex invoices, including electronic billing through specialized platforms.

• Communicate with attorneys and staff to address billing inquiries and resolve discrepancies.

• Monitor accounts receivable, prepare aging reports, and follow up on outstanding balances to ensure timely payments.

• Assist in developing and refining billing policies, procedures, and workflows.

• Deliver excellent customer service to both internal colleagues and external clients.

• Collaborate with the Director of Finance to support the completion of financial projects and initiatives.

• Adapt to changes and maintain a meticulous and positive work environment.

Requirements • Minimum of 4 years of experience in client billing, ideally within a detail-oriented services setting.

• Proficiency in accounting software systems, with experience in platforms such as Aderant being a strong advantage.

• Familiarity with accounts receivable and accounts payable processes.

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail in handling complex billing requirements.

• Ability to prepare and post journal entries, and assist with month-end closing processes.

• Effective communication skills to interact with attorneys, staff, and clients in a courteous and efficient manner.

• Knowledge of electronic billing systems and platforms.

• Experience with general ledger accounting principles and practices is preferred.
