Are you a detail-oriented accounting professional ready to take ownership of an organization’s financial operations? Our client, a mission-driven nonprofit, is looking for an Accounting Manager to oversee all aspects of our accounting and financial reporting as a one-person department. This Accounting Manager role offers the unique opportunity to make a direct impact while managing a wide range of essential duties.

What You’ll Do:
+ Handle all accounting responsibilities, including accounts payable and receivable, payroll, reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance.
+ Manage membership billing processes and ensure accurate tracking, invoicing, and collection.
+ Oversee accounts receivable, ensuring efficient tracking and collection of payments to maintain operational sustainability.
+ Prepare monthly financial statements and assist in delivering insights to the leadership team and board of directors.
+ Develop and monitor the organization’s annual budget, aligning finances with programmatic goals and long-term strategies.
+ Lead annual audit preparation, ensuring compliance with nonprofit accounting regulations and readiness for external review.
+ Manage grant accounting—track restricted and unrestricted funds, prepare reports, and ensure compliance with funding requirements.
+ Ensure adherence to nonprofit GAAP standards and regulatory requirements.
+ Provide financial oversight and input into grant proposals, program budgets, and strategic planning initiatives.

Requirements
• 1-3 years experience in accounting and financial management, preferably in a nonprofit setting.
• Expertise in accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger processes.
• Strong knowledge of nonprofit accounting standards and grant compliance requirements.
• Ability to prepare and analyze financial statements and reports.
• Familiarity with audit procedures and experience managing audits is preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; advanced certifications are a plus.
