Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our client in Houston, Texas. In this long-term contract position, you will play a key role in processing payroll for a large workforce across multiple states, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and regulations. This role requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to meeting deadlines.

Responsibilities:

• Process biweekly and monthly payrolls for 1,200 to 2,000 employees across multiple states, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

• Reconcile earnings, deductions, and taxes; prepare and submit audit reports for management review.

• Collaborate with managers to ensure timely approval of non-exempt employees’ time entries.

• Handle payroll inputs, tax adjustments, and company reclassifications as required.

• Manage on-demand and manual payment processes, including W-2 corrections and garnishment setups.

• Oversee payroll integrations and conduct audits to ensure accuracy.

• Assist with tax and payment election setup and audits.

• Provide support to employees, managers, and HR teams by addressing payroll-related inquiries.

• Participate in special payroll projects and take on additional responsibilities as assigned.

• Coordinate the distribution of payroll checks and pay slips as needed.

Requirements • Minimum of two years of corporate payroll processing experience.

• Solid understanding of payroll principles, including overtime and tax withholding.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.

• Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the ability to meet strict deadlines.

• Strong problem-solving and mathematical abilities.

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a customer-focused approach.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

• Willingness to work in the office during training and as required.
