Dawoud Kazimee with Robert Half is looking for an experienced Senior Systems Accounting Manager to lead and optimize our accounting operations in Portland, Oregon. This role involves managing a team of accounting professionals, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and delivering accurate financial reporting. The ideal candidate will bring a strong understanding of financial systems, internal controls, and organizational operations.
Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement accounting policies and internal control systems to ensure compliance and accuracy.
• Oversee monthly accounting processes, ensuring adherence to accepted accounting principles.
• Collaborate on the creation and maintenance of annual operating and capital budgets, including loading budgets into financial systems.
• Monitor and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard organizational assets and ensure reliable financial reporting.
• Prepare and present monthly financial statements, highlighting key transactions, issues, and risks to management.
• Establish systems to provide cost center managers with accurate budget-to-actual reports and offer guidance to enhance budgeting practices.
• Generate financial reports to meet federal, state, and local government requirements.
• Lead the coordination of the annual audit, ensuring timely preparation of financial statements and collaboration between departments.
• Manage the Business Office to deliver excellent customer service while aligning with organizational goals.
• Mentor and support team members, monitoring their progress and providing guidance to achieve objectives.

Requirements • At least 5 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on financial systems and leadership roles.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Dynamics CRM and other financial software tools.
• Strong background in non-profit accounting, including regulatory compliance.
• Proven ability to develop and implement internal controls and accounting policies.
• Experience preparing financial statements and managing audits.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills to mentor teams and collaborate with stakeholders.
• Advanced understanding of budgeting processes and financial reporting.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification preferred.
