Robert Half is partnering with a well-respected law firm looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Criminal Defense Paralegal to support their clients. The firm is located in Bloomington, Minnesota. In this role, you will assist attorneys with case preparation, administrative tasks, and client communication to ensure smooth and efficient case management. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a dynamic legal environment while honing your expertise in criminal defense law.

Responsibilities:

• Manage attorney schedules and maintain accurate calendaring for hearings, meetings, and court deadlines.

• Serve as a liaison between clients and attorneys, ensuring timely communication and responses.

• Organize and maintain case files and databases, ensuring all documentation is up-to-date and properly stored.

• Draft and proofread legal documents, including correspondence, discovery requests, and pleadings.

• Coordinate with expert witnesses and handle the logistics of their involvement in cases.

• File pleadings and other legal documents with the appropriate courts in a timely manner.

• Schedule depositions, hearings, trials, mediations, and client consultations as needed.

• Perform administrative duties such as preparing reports, managing correspondence, and assisting with billing functions.

• Contribute to the overall success of the department by supporting other essential tasks as required.

Requirements

• 3+ years of Litigation Paralegal experience. Criminal Defense Paralegal experience is advantageous.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, case management software, and tools like Adobe Acrobat.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with excellent interpersonal abilities.

• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple cases, prioritize tasks effectively, and meet strict deadlines.

• Exceptional organizational and time management skills with a keen attention to detail.

• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
