Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our team on a contract basis in Baltimore, Maryland. In this role, you will play a key part in managing payroll operations, ensuring accuracy, and maintaining compliance with organizational and regulatory standards. This position requires strong analytical skills and proficiency in payroll systems and tools like Excel.

Responsibilities:

• Review and process new employee payroll while preparing spreadsheets for bi-weekly data imports.

• Verify and adjust pay amounts by pulling and analyzing data from payroll systems.

• Handle changes related to new hires, terminations, and pay adjustments, ensuring accurate calculations.

• Audit timecards for accuracy, confirm supervisor approvals, and verify overtime and holiday pay.

• Process payroll on a bi-weekly basis, ensuring compliance with tax regulations and organizational policies.

• Generate and review reports for the finance team, addressing any errors or discrepancies.

• Utilize Excel tools such as VLOOKUP to create and manipulate payroll-related spreadsheets.

• Oversee contributions to 403(b) plans and verify all payroll-related deductions.

• Resolve payroll issues promptly and ensure the timely finalization of payroll each cycle.

Requirements • A minimum of 3 years of experience in payroll processing.

• Proficiency in payroll systems, including ADP, and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

• Strong ability to process bi-weekly payroll accurately and efficiently.

• Familiarity with payroll tax regulations and compliance requirements.

• Experience in generating detailed payroll reports and resolving discrepancies.

• Knowledge of Excel functions such as VLOOKUP for data analysis.

• Detail-oriented with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and senior management.
