• Project Accountant

    Robert Half Finance & Accounting (Concord, NC)


    Description

    A rapidly growing construction company based in Concord, NC is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Project Accountant to join its team.     Key Responsibilities

    + Oversee all aspects of Accounts Payable, managing 400+ invoices per month

    + Review and approve purchase orders, vendor invoices, and pay applications

    + Set up new vendors; maintain and update W-9s and insurance certificates

    + Collaborate with Project Managers to ensure accurate job costing and timely approvals

    + Monitor billing inbox daily and respond within 48 hours

    + Assist with month-end close by reviewing bank reconciliations and verifying postings (no manual journal entries)

    + Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., Davis Bacon, sales tax)

    + Reconcile AP accounts and address any variances

    + Support additional administrative and office management tasks as needed

    Requirements

    Must-Haves:

    + Strong job costing experience (this is the top priority)

    + Experience working closely with Project Managers

    + Takes initiative and consistently goes above and beyond

    + Familiarity with ERP systems (Sage 300 and Procore are preferred, but not required)

    + High-volume AP processing experience (400+ invoices/month)

    + Ability to identify and improve accounting processes and workflows

    Preferred Skills:

    + Knowledge of AIA billing, lien waivers, and contract review

    + Understanding of multi-state sales & use tax regulations

    + Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)

    + Exposure to construction accounting software (Sage 300, Procore, Bluebeam)
