Litigation Attorney – Medical Malpractice

Robert Half has partnered with a civil defense litigation law firm in Denver on the search for a 3+ years’ Litigation Associate Attorney to join their team on a direct-hire basis. This attorney will be supporting the firm’s medical malpractice defense and general liability practice group. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

+ Conduct thorough case investigations and evaluations to assess potential outcomes and defense options.

+ Manage and oversee individual caseloads under the supervision of the firm’s Partners.

+ Draft and respond to discovery requests to gather critical case evidence.

+ Conduct legal research and analysis to develop effective litigation and defense strategies.

+ Depose witnesses, including medical experts, to build evidence and case strength.

+ Conduct and defend depositions on behalf of clients to maintain their position effectively.

+ Draft and respond to legal pleadings and motions for various case stages.

+ Manage motions practice for pre-trial preparation.

+ Represent clients during mediations, settlement agreements, and negotiations.

+ Prepare for cases and potentially try cases to verdict, ensuring strong client advocacy.

+ Maintain regular communication with clients to address concerns and provide case updates.

+ Collaborate with Partners, paralegals, and support staff to efficiently manage caseloads.

+ Keep informed about laws, regulations, and industry trends related to medical malpractice and healthcare.

+ Participate in professional development to ensure compliance with evolving legal standards.

+ Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the firm’s management.

Candidates interested in this position must possess a Juris Doctor from an accredited law school and active license to practice law in Colorado. This position requires strong research and writing skills. A writing sample will be required. Requirements • Possess strong skills in Document Management, ensuring the accurate and efficient organization of legal documents.

• Proficient in Briefing, able to clearly and effectively communicate complex legal information.

• Demonstrated experience in Civil Litigation, with the ability to represent clients in disputes in civil courts.

• Expertise in Medical Malpractice, providing legal support and representation in cases involving medical negligence.

• Skilled in Arguing Motions, effectively advocating for the client's position in court.

• Experience in Defending Depositions, protecting the interests of the client during the deposition process.

• Ability to handle Complex Litigation, managing intricate legal cases with multiple parties or large amounts of evidence.

• Experience in Litigation - Defense, representing defendants in lawsuits.

• Proficiency in Litigation - Civil, representing clients in non-criminal disputes.

• Demonstrated ability to conduct Jury Trials, presenting the case to a jury in court.

• Skilled in Trial Preparation, effectively preparing all necessary documents and strategies for court trials.
