Robert Half is working with a law firm that is seeking a detail-oriented Conflicts Analyst with an advanced legal education to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate who holds a Juris Doctorate (JD) degree and has strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with an interest in compliance, risk management, or ethics.The Conflicts Analyst will play a critical role in maintaining compliance with ethical rules and professional standards by identifying potential conflicts of interest within client matters. The ideal candidate will use their legal expertise to advise and support the firm’s attorneys and leadership in navigating complex conflict issues. This position requires exceptional attention to detail, confidentiality, and the ability to handle sensitive matters effectively.

Key Responsibilities

+ Conduct thorough conflict checks using specialized conflict-checking software and databases to identify potential conflicts of interest across clients, matters, and parties involved.

+ Analyze conflict results and apply applicable rules of professional conduct to assess ethical implications.

+ Provide detailed reporting and recommendations on conflict checks, ensuring compliance with rules and policies.

+ Research and interpret state and federal ethics rules related to conflicts of interest.

+ Analyze complex case facts in connection with legal standards and organizational policies.

+ Draft memoranda and reports summarizing findings and proposing resolutions to conflict-related ethical dilemmas.

+ Serve as a resource for attorneys and staff by offering guidance on conflict-resolution procedures.

+ Collaborate with the firm’s leadership, risk management team, and other departments to develop best practices for conflict identification and resolution.

+ Optimize conflict-checking processes by identifying areas for improvement and streamlining workflows.

+ Utilize conflict databases and software consistently and support advancements in conflict-related technologies.

+ Safeguard sensitive client and firm information by deploying appropriate security and confidentiality measures.

Requirements

Education

+ Juris Doctorate (JD) degree from an accredited law school (required).

Experience

+ 1–3 years of experience in a law firm, corporate legal department, or similar legal setting preferred (prior experience working with conflicts or compliance.

+ Familiarity with ABA Model Rules of Professional Conduct and other applicable ethical standards.

Skills

+ Exceptional analytical and critical thinking skills; ability to synthesize complex legal information into actionable insights.

+ Proficiency in conflict-checking software, legal research tools, and document management systems.

+ Strong written and verbal communication skills to distill legal concepts for attorneys and non-lawyers alike.

+ Excellent time management and organizational skills in handling multiple tasks and deadlines.

+ High ethical standards and ability to manage sensitive information with utmost confidentiality.

+ Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and thoroughness.

+ A proactive problem-solving approach and ability to think critically about conflict remediation strategies.
