Job Description
We are seeking a strategic and results-driven **Senior Real Estate FP&A Manager** to lead financial planning and analysis (FP&A) for our Non-Same Store portfolio (Acquired, Newly Developed, Expanded and Stabilizing Facilities), provide asset performance evaluation, reporting, and investment support for our Acquisition and Development teams.
As a key member of the Finance team within a publicly traded REIT, this role will play a critical part in supporting growth, optimizing returns, and maintaining disciplined capital deployment across our national footprint of self-storage properties.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Lead the property level budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes for the company’s Non-Same Store self-storage portfolio (540 properties and growing)
+ Build, maintain, and enhance complex financial models in both Workday Adaptive Planning, and excel, to support asset management, acquisitions, development, joint ventures and portfolio optimization strategies.
+ Analyze property-level and portfolio-level trends, including occupancy, rental rates, expense drivers, and capital needs, to inform strategic decisions.
+ Develop and present a suite of reporting and dashboards for senior leadership monthly meetings, board meetings, and investor relations. Partner with Real Estate team leaders to present business updates.
+ Partner with various stakeholders within the company to evaluate property performance with financial, statistical and market insights. Work with teams to optimize investments, and drive performance.
+ Support real estate transactions, including due diligence, valuation analysis, operational support for acquisitions, development, and redevelopment projects.
+ Provide Real Estate data points to Corporate Accounting/Financial Reporting, to ensure timely, accurate, and SOX-compliant financial reporting aligned with public company standards.
+ Monitor industry trends, market dynamics, and competitor activity to inform financial strategies, benchmark performance, and provide insights for the company.
Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field (MBA and/or CPA a plus).
+ 7–10 years of relevant experience in finance, ideally within a REIT, other public company, or other Investment Company.
+ Strong knowledge of real estate finance principles, including IRR, NPV, cap rates, and portfolio performance metrics.
+ Experience with self-storage or operating real estate assets preferred.
+ Advanced Excel modeling skills; experience with Workday Adaptive Planning, Tableau/Power BI, SQL and databases a plus.
+ Proven ability to model and translate financial data into actionable business strategies.
+ Strong communication, presentation and leadership skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
