Job Description:Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:
The Leadership Studies Program in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at Iowa State University is seeking credentialed and experienced leaders for a half-time Lecturer role. This position will play a key role in growing our interdisciplinary undergraduate Leadership Studies Program.
Responsibilities include teaching four courses (12 credits) a year, developing high impact experiences for students, and advancing the visibility and impact of the Leadership Studies program at Iowa State University. The successful candidate will be able to work collaboratively with co-workers, create an excellent classroom environment, and contribute to strategic initiatives of the program and the college.
This part-time term faculty position is a 50% full-time equivalent (FTE), 9-month position with an initial 1-year term. This position has the possibility of additional course assignment(s) contingent upon budget and staffing needs. This position will have an administrative home department within Psychology.
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an on-going basis without sponsorship.
Required Minimum Qualifications:
+ Master’s degree in leadership studies, communication studies, higher education, psychology, sociology, or a related field by time of appointment
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Completed Ph.D. in leadership studies, communication studies, higher education psychology, sociology, or a related field
+ Evidence of successful teaching experience in virtual and face to face environments
+ Demonstrated expertise in leadership studies, including familiarity with leadership theories, models, and pedagogies
+ Professional experience in a leadership role
+ Past experience offering experiential learning opportunities

The Leadership Studies Program at Iowa State is for all undergraduate students who seek to study, understand, and apply the principles of leadership in their lives and, eventually, their careers, to make a difference in the world around them.
A 21-credit-hour leadership studies certificate and a 15-credit leadership studies minor are available with courses that can complement any major.
