Job Title: HR/Safety Assistant
Job Description
+ Create and update health and safety policies and procedures in line with company objectives and legal requirements.
+ Ensure policies are communicated effectively to all employees.
+ Issue training program sets and train employees on their use.
+ Update Workers Compensation and additional worker information.
+ Conduct annual hearing and blood lead testing.
+ Develop and deliver health and safety training programs for employees.
+ Conduct regular workplace risk assessments to identify and evaluate potential hazards.
+ Implement control measures to mitigate identified risks.
+ Investigate workplace incidents and near misses to identify root causes and prevent recurrence.
+ Maintain accurate records of incidents and near misses.
+ Ensure compliance with relevant health and safety legislation and regulations.
+ Assist with HR processes related to health and safety.
+ Serve as a liaison between different departments and external stakeholders on health and safety matters.
+ Assist with HR processes such as onboarding, offboarding, and employee record management.
+ Coordinate the interviewing, screening, recruitment, and appointments for HR Manager.
+ Conduct new hire orientations and assist with the identification, selection, and interviewing of candidates.
Essential Skills
+ Proven health and safety experience.
+ Experience in a manufacturing environment.
+ Ability to detect potential hazards and effectively solve issues.
+ Experience with safety programs, data entry, HR administration, and i-9 verifications.
+ Knowledge of ISO standards.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ HR and EHS experience.
+ Experience conducting new hire safety orientations.
Work Environment
The HR/Safety Assistant will primarily work in an office setting. The role involves a high level of coordination and communication with employees and external stakeholders. The work environment can be fast-paced and may require handling multiple tasks simultaneously.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $27.00/hr.
