Redefine Inpatient Psychiatry—With a Role That Works for You
At Rochester Regional Health (RRH), we believe psychiatry is more than a specialty—it’s a calling to provide compassionate, community-based care. We are seeking a board-certified or board-eligible psychiatrist to join our inpatient team at Rochester General Hospital in a full-time role structured as 50% inpatient psychiatry and 50% customizable clinical duties. Position Overview: Full-Time | 1.0 FTE (50% Inpatient / 50% Customizable)
Inpatient Responsibilities (50%):
+ Provide care for a 12-bed unit (within a 29-bed facility), supported by a dedicated mid-level provider and a multidisciplinary team.
+ Participate in daily treatment team meetings with a collaborative group including the medical director, nurse manager, and social workers.
+ Deliver acute psychiatric care in a modern, secure unit with 24/7 on-site security and access to electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) services.
+ Maintain a manageable caseload with voluntary call opportunities available for additional compensation.
Customizable Clinical Component (50%):The remaining 0.5 FTE will be tailored to the candidate’s interests and may include:
+ CPEP (Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program) Coverage
+ Emergency Department Psychiatric Consultation at Rochester General Hospital
+ Outpatient Psychiatry Opportunities
There is also flexibility to incorporate other service areas or clinical focuses based on experience or preference. The goal is to design a role that aligns with both your clinical strengths and long-term interests, while meeting the system’s evolving behavioral health needs.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
L - Light Work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly; requires occasional walking, standing or squatting.

The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
