The Red Hat OpenShift Compliant and Secure Engineering team is looking for a Software Engineer to join us in Raleigh, NC. In this role, you will work in an agile team and contribute to the engineering of Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform and other products such as Red Hat Quay and Advanced Cluster Security. As a Software Engineer, you will be a key contributor in creating automation and tooling to ensure OpenShift and other Red Hat products are secure and meet industry security benchmarks. You’ll work with numerous engineering teams as well as product management and other key stakeholders such as product security to identify and prioritize opportunities to identify and resolve security issues.
What you will do:
+ Develop automation and tooling for the measurement and improvement of OpenShift and other Red Hat product’s security and compliance posture, working within an agile team and as part of a global development organization
+ Develop and implement compliance profiles and automation through Kubernetes Operators
+ Work with Engineering, Product Management, and Product Security stakeholders to prioritize security related features during the planning, development, and delivery
+ Act as a point of escalation for critical security issues raised during product development cycles
+ Proactively shape Red Hat Engineering’s ability to identify, prioritize and remediate vulnerabilities across OpenShift and other Red Hat products
What will bring:
+ An engineering degree or higher, or equivalent in computer science or a related field with 1+ years of experience writing code in programming languages such as Go /Python etc.
+ Ability to work Hybrid in Raleigh NC
+ Experience with containers and Kubernetes
+ Problem solving and troubleshooting skills with Root Cause Analysis experience
+ Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
+ Hands-on learning and mid to senior level experience demonstrating implementation ownership of complex features individually and as a collaboration with others.
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills
The following are considered a plus:
+ Familiarity with Red Hat OpenShift or Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)
+ Experience with application security, vulnerability management or industry benchmarks such as FIPS, CIS, NIST SP-800-53, PCI, and others
+ Understanding of open source development models
+ Prior participation in open source community software development or leadership
+ Familiarity with enterprise application development
+ Familiar with test-based development and agile or scrum methodologies is a big plus
The salary range for this position is $90,480.00 - $144,660.00. Actual offer will be based on your qualifications.
Pay Transparency
Red Hat determines compensation based on several factors including but not limited to job location, experience, applicable skills and training, external market value, and internal pay equity. Annual salary is one component of Red Hat’s compensation package. This position may also be eligible for bonus, commission, and/or equity. For positions with Remote-US locations, the actual salary range for the position may differ based on location but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
