Job Title: Pharmacy Technician
Job Description
The Pharmacy Technician will work in the Intake Access department for Home Infusion and Pharmacy Services to analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve pharmacy charging and billing anomalies. The role involves validating medication delivery tickets, working assigned work queues, and monitoring daily pharmacy charging reports. You will communicate with members, patients, payers, network pharmacies, providers, and other ancillary departments to obtain necessary information for federal and state review or audit. Additionally, you will evaluate charging and price structures to ensure consistent and accurate pharmacy charging methods, process appropriate pharmacy billing corrections, and research pended or incomplete claims to provide resolutions or recommendations.
Responsibilities

+ Communicate with members, patients, payers, network pharmacies, providers, and other ancillary departments to obtain necessary information for federal and state review or audit.

+ Process appropriate pharmacy billing corrections as identified.
+ Research pended or incomplete claims and provide resolutions or recommendations.

+ Experience in retail pharmacy, home infusion, billing, pharmacy billing, and pharmacy charging

Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Washington Pharmacy Technician License & Certification
+ High School Diploma, GED or better
+ Willingness to learn billing/administrative components of the role
+ Long-term care experience
+ Pharmacy billing and charging experience
+ Prior Authorization experience
+ Good work ethic
+ Quick learner
+ Good time management skills
Work Environment
The work schedule is Monday to Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm. The dress code is business casual, with jeans acceptable. This position regularly interacts with interdepartmental staff including customer service, quality management, claims, account services, and provider relations, as well as external departments such as pharmacies, physicians, pharmacists, nurses, pharmacy technicians, clinical staff, home services, and the billing office. The majority (80%) of patients are at home, with 20% in the office, which has 9 beds. The office has approximately 90 employees, with around 45 typically present in the office while the others are nurses visiting homes. The work environment offers a good pace without face-to-face patient interactions, great benefits for full-time employees, and better pay compared to retail or long-term care roles. This is a stable, full-time position with opportunities for pay increases as experience is gained.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $26.00/hr.
