    Job Title: Director of QualityJob Description

     

    The Director of Quality is responsible for overseeing 35 to 50 employees in the quality control and quality assurance departments. This position provides strategic leadership and direction for all quality-related functions across the organization, ensuring products meet or exceed customer expectations, comply with regulatory standards, and support continuous improvement initiatives throughout manufacturing operations. As a key member of the leadership team, the Director of Quality contributes to long-term strategy, operational excellence, and risk mitigation.

    Responsibilities

    + Develop, implement, and maintain an enterprise-wide quality management system (QMS) in accordance with ISO 9001 and other relevant standards.

    + Lead all internal and external quality audits, including customer, regulatory, and certification audits.

    + Establish and track KPIs for quality performance, driving a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

    + Collaborate with Engineering, Production, and Supply Chain teams to resolve quality issues, improve processes, and implement corrective/preventive actions (CAPAs).

    + Ensure compliance with federal, state, and industry regulations, including environmental and safety standards where applicable.

    + Manage the Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) teams; recruit, train, mentor, and evaluate staff.

    + Lead root cause analysis and problem-solving initiatives for customer complaints, non-conformances, and returns.

    + Serve as the primary quality liaison to customers and executive stakeholders.

    + Support production development by ensuring quality standards are integrated.

    + Drive supplier quality improvement efforts and oversee supplier audits/qualifications.

    Essential Skills

    + AS9100 lead auditor experience

    + Minimum of 10 years’ experience in aerospace and/or manufacturing

    + Minimum 5 years of quality leadership in aerospace/aircraft

    + Proficient understanding of GD&T tolerancing

    + Working familiarity with First Article Inspections (FAI)

    + Ability to interpret engineering drawings, diagrams, and confer with management and engineering staff to determine quality and reliability standards

    + Proficient with computer skills navigating multiple inspection software platforms

    + Understanding and navigation of CAD-CAM or CATIA (Enovia)

    + Experience with AS9100/QMS

    + Understanding of MRB quality procedures

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Preferred Bachelor's in Engineering, Quality management, or related technical field

    + Analytical skills with demonstrated ability to deconstruct requirements and prioritize accordingly

    + Excellent leadership, communication, and team-building skills

    + Proven ability to implement strategic change and build high-performance teams

    + Focus on continuous process improvement

    + Ability to manage multiple priorities and effectively work on multiple simultaneous assignments in a fast-paced environment

    + Familiar with outside processing and certifications

    + Six Sigma Certification/Experience is a plus

    Work Environment

    The work environment is a Monday to Friday schedule from 7 AM to 4 PM within an engineering office and quality department. This is a family-owned and operated company that is growing, with owners who are very hands-on with the teams. The company consistently focuses on the culture and personality of the individuals and looks to develop talent in-house for promotions.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $104000.00 - $114000.00/yr.
