Construction Quality Control Manager
Job Description
The Quality Control Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring that both the design and construction work meet the project's standards. This position demands expertise in reviewing, inspecting, and documenting daily tasks to ensure adherence to the project's minimum requirements. The QC Manager focuses on maintaining the quality of the work being done, reporting directly to the Superintendent to avoid conflicts between quality, safety, scheduling, and productivity goals.
Responsibilities
+ Review, inspect, and document daily construction tasks to ensure compliance with project standards.
+ Maintain quality control measures and standards throughout the construction process.
+ Report directly to the Superintendent to coordinate quality, safety, scheduling, and productivity goals.
+ Collaborate with other team members to uphold project quality standards.
Essential Skills
+ Minimum of 5 years of experience as a contractor Quality Control Manager on Federal US Army Corps projects.
+ At least 2 years of experience with vertical construction projects.
+ Proven track record of working on projects valued at $50 million or more.
+ Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience on projects valued at $100 million or more is preferred.
+ Civil construction experience is a plus.
+ Ability to thrive in fast-paced, high-stakes environments.
+ Level-headed and calm under pressure.
Work Environment
The project is located at Minot Air Force Base, North Dakota, the third most secure base in the U.S. Candidates must pass an extensive background check. The project value is $145 million and includes infrastructure for a new attack helicopter program, helipads, maintenance facilities, firing range, and supporting vertical construction and civil work. The work schedule is 40 hours per week standard, with rare exceptions extending to 50 hours per week. Travel home is scheduled every four weeks with paid travel days on Fridays and Mondays. The position offers a career-defining experience in vertical and civil construction for a major Department of Defense initiative, ideal for candidates with Army Corps of Engineers experience and large-scale federal project backgrounds. Travel and housing support make relocation manageable, with a $4,300 per month subsistence and housing allowance.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $135000.00/yr.
