Job Title: Resident Project Representative/ Construction Inspector
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Resident Project Representative/Inspector to conduct on-site observations, monitoring the progress and quality of work against contract documents. This role involves serving as the engineer’s liaison with contractors, maintaining comprehensive records, reviewing contractor applications for payment, and performing additional duties as assigned.
Responsibilities
+ Conduct on-site observations to monitor progress and quality of work.
+ Serve as the engineer’s liaison with contractors.
+ Maintain adequate records, including a daily logbook and updated drawings with authorized changes.
+ Review contractor’s applications for payment.
+ Remain on the job site for the entirety of the project’s construction.
+ Maintain detailed progress reports and ensure contractor compliance with the progress schedule.
+ Review progress schedules, shop drawings, sample submittals, and schedules of values.
+ Attend meetings such as preconstruction conferences, progress meetings, and job conferences.
+ Comply with site safety programs.
+ Assist engineers in serving as the owner’s liaison with contractors and obtaining additional information as required.
+ Forward recommendations to the assigned engineer.
+ Other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
+ Construction inspection experience on water, wastewater, and/or stormwater construction projects.
+ Ability to read civil construction plans and specifications.
+ Willingness and ability to travel to project sites and stay overnight as needed.
+ Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook, and project documentation software such as Procore.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience in water line installation/construction.
+ Experience in sewer line installation/construction.
+ Experience in storm sewer installation/construction.
Work Environment
The role requires fieldwork in various weather conditions. This position involves observation and report writing on construction activities rather than hands-on inspection. Candidates must be willing to travel across Indiana, staying overnight when required, with accommodations and travel reimbursements provided. Standard working hours are from 7 AM to 4 PM, with potential overtime up to 50+ hours per week. This is a contract-to-hire position lasting nine months, with opportunities for long-term stability and career growth.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $33.65 - $37.72/hr.
