Job Title: Transportation Engineer
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Transportation Engineer with 2-5 years of experience to join our team and support projects for the Maryland State Highway Administration. In this role, you will engage in preliminary and final engineering design reviews, prepare and evaluate engineering calculations, and develop comprehensive drawings, plans, and visual aids. You will also be responsible for reviewing and developing cost estimates, creating technical reports and memos, and working on zone and traffic control plan sets. Additionally, you will conduct office research, fieldwork, data collection, and data analysis.
Responsibilities
+ Conduct preliminary and final engineering design reviews.
+ Prepare and evaluate engineering-related calculations.
+ Develop comprehensive drawings, plans, and visual aids.
+ Review and develop cost estimates.
+ Create technical reports and memos.
+ Work on zone and traffic control plan sets.
+ Conduct office research, fieldwork, data collection, and data analysis.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in MicroStation is required.
+ Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on transportation, highway engineering, or traffic engineering.
+ 2-5 years of experience in transportation engineering.
+ Possession of either an E.I.T. or P.E. certification.
+ Experience in civil engineering, traffic engineering, roadway design, and traffic analysis.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience with temporary signal work, signage, and MOTs.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office, OpenRoads, AutoCAD, and ProjectWise.
Work Environment
This position offers a hybrid schedule and requires candidates to sit at the Maryland State Highway Administration office in Hanover. There is potential flexibility to work from the client's office in Hunt Valley as well. The role involves occasional fieldwork for data collection and attending evening or weekend meetings. The firm boasts a reputable standing as a growing transportation construction engineering company serving both public and private sector clients in Maryland and Delaware, with a team of around 50 people. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $83200.00 - $104000.00/yr.
