    Job Title: Electrical Construction Safety Manager

    Job Description

    We are seeking a Safety Manager located near Baltimore, MD to undertake various projects within the Electrical field. The Safety Manager plays a vital role in ensuring that workers on construction projects maintain the highest level of safety. This position involves collaborating closely with project owners and contractors to develop safety plans and protocols, fostering an open culture of safety.

    Responsibilities

    + Thoroughly understand, administer, and enforce OSHA regulations and other federal, state, and local standards, along with company safety policies and procedures, to establish and maintain a safe work environment.

    + Complete all OSHA logs and files annual reports and postings to maintain compliance.

    + Enforce all safety regulations to ensure a safe work environment at all times.

    + Develop system accountability for the overall safety program for the company.

    + Drive safety plans and protocols that foster an open culture of safety.

    + Ensure employees on site understand the chain of command when a safety incident occurs through strict company policies and procedures.

    + Liaise with external parties such as government-employed inspectors, OSHA, MOSH, VOSH, to facilitate evaluation of construction sites.

    + Familiarity with environmental laws as they pertain to construction safety.

    + Oversee and enforce all fire safety plans.

    + Develop and implement the company's overall safety policy.

    + Enforce a zero tolerance policy regarding safety violations in a timely manner, coordinating disciplinary action with HR Manager's input.

    + Manage and drive the Company Safety Committee, ensuring all ideas are vetted, actionable programs are presented to management for approval, and approved programs are distributed and enforced effectively.

    + Ensure diversity within the safety committee.

    + Maintain consistency in committee meeting agendas monthly, including measures taken to resolve current challenges and drive a proactive safety approach on hot topics.

    Essential Skills

    + Minimum of five years of safety field experience.

    + Knowledgeable with governmental ES&H standards, rules, and regulations and proficient with applying them to construction projects.

    + Demonstrated knowledge of safe work practices and experience with conducting accident investigations.

    + Excellent communication and presentation skills for management and field personnel.

    + Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with all levels of the company, federal and state representatives, the company insurance carrier, and outside vendors.

    + Attention to detail and prioritizing tasks; self-managed; timely completion of tasks and ability to meet deadlines.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Electrical background preferred.

    + OSHA 500 and 510 certification.

    + First Aid / CPR instructor certification.

    + Completed OSHA Train the Trainer certification.

    + Strong computer skills.

    Work Environment

    The Safety Manager will be responsible for training and the upkeep of the safety department, traveling to construction sites throughout the DMV and to the office in Baltimore throughout the week. The role offers a 9-month contract to hire, 2 weeks of PTO, 6 paid holidays, 401(k) options, and medical, dental, and vision benefits.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $110000.00/hr.
