Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join our team and eventually step into the role of Manufacturing Engineering Manager. Our manufacturing process begins with a steel rod that undergoes an extrusion process followed by a multi-step 'Upset' process to shape the material. Our facility boasts a large forge shop equipped with CNC machining, laser cutters, and various other advanced technologies. The ideal candidate will lead a team of seven individuals, including engineers and tooling technicians, to drive process improvements and support quality initiatives.

Responsibilities

+ Lead a team of 7 individuals across engineering and the tool room, including 3 engineers, 1 Tool Room Supervisor, and 3 Tooling Technicians.

+ Support process improvement and continuous improvement activities.

+ Investigate downtime issues and drive quality initiatives.

+ Determine the root cause of part defects and whether they are due to process or operator error.

+ Lead or assist in machine upgrades, capital projects, and quality process changes.

+ Support plant meetings and potential customer solution discussions.

+ Engage in potential leadership activities.

Essential Skills

+ Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Technology, or 10+ years of experience in lieu of a degree.

+ 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing/process engineering role.

+ 1+ year of experience as an engineering Lead/ Senior /Chief/Supervisor with at least one direct report.

+ Experience in heavy industrial, aerospace, or automotive sectors (forging, fabrication, casting, etc.).

+ Tooling knowledge (preferably NX, but flexible).

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience with process improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma (Green Belt or Yellow Belt).

Work Environment

This role is based in a facility that specializes in forging, casting, and the fabrication of blades for aircraft engines. The facility is equipped with CNC machining, laser cutters, and other advanced technologies. The work environment is dynamic and involves collaboration across various departments to ensure high-quality production and continuous improvement.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $52.88 - $60.09/hr.
