Job Title: Electrical Engineer

Job Description

The Electrical Engineer will provide engineering services to support the maintenance department, ensuring the safe and effective operation of production systems. This role is crucial in enhancing efficiency, output, and quality of processes, with a focus on integrating electrical systems with manufacturing and upgrading existing equipment.

Responsibilities

+ Coordinate all phases of assigned electrical engineering projects from concept to project closure, including scope development, written specifications, bid solicitations, design, manufacturing, equipment commissioning.

+ Lead and participate in problem-solving efforts alongside multi-discipline technical staff, maintenance, and production teams.

+ Use PI Vision and Data Link to analyze process issues and provide solutions to improve processes.

+ Create and develop electrical control solutions to support process improvements and enhance equipment reliability.

+ Assist production and maintenance teams with equipment and process issues.

+ Redesign and upgrade PLC/HMI controls for existing processes.

+ Install and troubleshoot camera systems on industrial equipment.

+ Incorporate SMART Manufacturing principles and tools into automated inspection systems to improve processes and data collection/analysis.

+ Mentor employees to increase their knowledge of equipment and processes, as needed.

Essential Skills

+ Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology.

+ 1-3 years of experience, including internships.

+ Experience or exposure to PLC and HMI systems.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Knowledge of Rockwell Automation systems.

+ Experience in electrical design and maintenance.

Work Environment

The role is based in an aluminum rolling mill facility in Iowa. Employees will work in a team-oriented setting with other engineers and technicians, benefiting from various employee resource groups, outside work activities, and new employee events. The facility is part of a global network of rolling operations supplying high-quality materials to various markets, including aerospace and automotive. Team composition includes electrical engineers, mechanical engineers, and process engineers, fostering a youthful and dynamic work environment.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $36.00 - $41.00/hr.
