Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Field Service Engineer to install and service machine tool products. You will demonstrate new machines, diagnose and repair problems, and assist customers with operations and programming during the warranty period. This role requires extensive travel and a commitment to upgrading personal capabilities through training and education.
Responsibilities
+ Install and demonstrate new machines in customer plants, including electrical or mechanical check-outs, setup, tooling, operation, and programming.
+ Prepare and submit demonstration reports accurately and promptly.
+ Diagnose and repair basic electrical/electronic, mechanical, or hydraulic problems during the warranty period.
+ Cross-train on mechanical, electrical, and electronic maintenance.
+ Advise and assist customers with operations and programming problems during the warranty period.
+ Perform maintenance work and provide assistance needed by customers following the warranty period.
+ Advise and assist in the selection and ordering of tools and repair parts.
+ Prepare and submit service time and expense reports accurately and promptly.
+ Assist other Field Service Engineers with assignments to receive on-the-job training.
+ Receive additional training on machine tool products by attending schools, seminars, and conferences.
+ Train customer personnel in processing, tooling, operating, and servicing machine tool products.
+ Recommend machine tools and accessory equipment to potential buyers.
+ Report sales opportunities.
+ Assist and advise in matters involving machine application, tooling, and estimating.
+ Maintain favorable customer relationships.
Essential Skills
+ Understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, and laser systems.
+ Knowledge of CNC equipment, especially FANUC.
+ Several years of technical or military training in electronics.
+ Ability to travel up to 85% within the USA regularly.
+ Professional approach to problem-solving.
+ Desire to understand customer needs.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Associate degree in related field or other engineering discipline preferred.
+ Technical School or Military Certification is acceptable.
+ Minimum of 1-4 years of machine tools maintenance or related experience.
+ Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical documents.
+ Ability to write reports and business correspondence.
+ Ability to calculate figures using basic algebra and geometry.
+ Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions.
+ Troubleshooting skills with mechanical, pneumatics, installation, and repair.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $62000.00 - $68000.00/yr.
