    Are you interested in working for an agency that provides valuable services to people aged 60 and older? If so, we would like you to j oin our Area Agency on Aging team as a substitute Meal Transporter. This position gives you the opportunity to brighten our senior community members day with a smile and a hot, nutritious meal.     DESCRIPTION OF WORK

    As a substitute Meal Transporter, you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact in the lives of elderly, home-bound consumers throughout Lebanon County through face-to-face interactions as you deliver hot, nutritious meals to their door. Work involves adjusting route of delivery if needed and checking route sheets daily for changes. Our ideal candidate will have the ability to move quickly and efficiently. You will place a 20-30 pound insulated meal container in your vehicle. Delivering individual meals to the door may require climbing up and down stairs.

    Responsibilities include:

    + Completing weekly service rosters

    + Informing office of changes in client health/condition

    + Inspecting quality/quantify of food

    + Attending meetings as needed

    Work Schedule and Additional Information:

    + Part-time employment, Regular Daily Driver and Substitute Drivers, on call as needed after training. Applicants hired for the substitute position may have the opportunity to be placed in a regular part-time position.

    + Note: Selected candidate must use their own personal vehicle to deliver meals. In addition to the hourly rate, selected candidate will receive the current IRS mileage rate.

    + Work hours are 9:00 AM to 1:30 PM, Monday - Friday. Hours are subject to change depending on weather or traffic.

    + Telework:You will not have the option to telework in this position.

    + Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

    REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

    + Six months of experience which required operation of a motor vehicle as a regular duty; or

    + Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

    Special Requirements:

    + This position requires p ossession of a valid Pennsylvania driver’s license.

    Conditions of Employment:

    + No suspension of driver’s license within the last three years.
