Job Title: Warehouse Worker
Job Description
The Warehouse Operator performs a variety of material handling, material movement, inventory, and warehouse functions.
Responsibilities
+ Acquire and maintain skill certifications for using forklifts, reach trucks, and electric pallet jacks. Also, be able to use tilt tables, weight scales, battery exchange, and stretch wrap.
+ Perform routine pre-operational checks of forklifts daily and clean as needed in accordance with the checklist.
+ Locate and distribute materials to departments as directed.
+ Conduct inventory cycle counts as directed, prepare, input, and process various reports, paperwork or other administrative duties in a timely manner either manually or using computer programs such as TMM, Word, Excel, and e-mail.
+ Properly document all material movements.
+ Examine incoming shipments, reject damaged items, record shortages, and report deficiencies or problems to the supervisor or purchasing department.
+ Perform additional duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in forklift, packing, inventory, and material handling.
+ Ability to take direction and communicate effectively.
+ Ability to read and understand written documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
+ Logical reasoning skills to troubleshoot problems and understand Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
+ Mathematical ability to perform simple addition and subtraction.
+ Technical ability to operate electric forklifts, electric pallet jacks, and reach trucks safely.
+ Technological proficiency with computers or computer-based equipment.
+ High school diploma or GED with one year of related experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Work Environment
The work environment emphasizes safety and compliance with the EH&S Policy and applicable regulations. Employees must attend scheduled EH&S training programs and support the organization's efforts to meet or exceed EH&S goals. The work environment also focuses on product safety and quality, requiring adherence to Safe Quality Food standards and safe work habits. Regular and consistent attendance is expected. Employees should practice proper lifting, bending, ergonomics, equipment use, and personal protective equipment (PPE) usage. Lockout procedures must be followed whenever equipment is cleaned or maintained.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Shelton, Connecticut.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.75 - $20.75/hr.
